| Switchfoot – Meant To Live Lyrics

Everyone keeps referring to the Christian connotations of Switchfoot songs, which is fair enough (I being Christian myself completely understand this point of view). But I just wanted to say that the meanings of Switchfoot's songs aren't restricted to this Christian perspective; the band purposefully leave out specific references to Christianity so that their lyrics can be appreciated by people of all faiths and beliefs. Claiming that “this song is a christian song” makes it sound as though every other interpretation is wrong and that only Christians can truly appreciate this music. I think this is unfair; Switchfoot make music about issues and ideas that can relate to anyone, not just followers of the Christian faith. |

Great song!!! :D
I love the contradiction of such dark lyrics being accompanied by such a cheery, optimistic melody.
When I first heard the song I just listened to the music and thought this is such a catchy happy song. Then I actually listened to the words and thought, wow what dark, honest lyrics! |

I love this song and I'm glad I watched Donnie Darko because I would have probably never this song. Everything about this song is just perfect. I love his voice too. Go the bag pipe solo. I gotta say it though, Donnie Darko is awesome and I was also annoyed that they moved this song in the director's cut. |

This is my favourite Elvis song and I agree with ephilbrook that Elvis sang this song with more emotion than any other song. I saw him singing it live on TV and I almost cried. Amazing stuff. |

I absolutely love Kamakawiwo'ole's interpretation of these two songs. His voice was simply amazing. I think that putting these two songs together makes this song a little contrdictory. "Somewhere over the rainbow" is saying that there has to be something better than this life. Whereas "what a wonderful world" is saying that life is good and the person is content with life. But maybe the "wonderful world" bit is like looking into the place that "somewhere over the rainbow" is hoping for. Im not sure. I hope that made sense lol. |

I heard this song was written in like 10 minutes or something like that which would mean that the subliminal messages would have been impossible to plan. However, I think that some parts of the supposed backwards messages are pretty clear and if you listen to verse 5 (in which they have found) the right way, you can hear that Plant puts emphasises on certain syllables and letters etc. which may influence how it sounds when played backwards. Also, Page was very much into the dark arts etc., which may have something to do with it (im not sure how all that stuff works lol). However despite subliminal messages and all that crap, this so is awesome!!! I think parts of the song may have something to do with materialism and how this woman believes money is able to buy happiness etc. But im probably completely wrong. However, i think not knowing exactly what this song means makes it more interesting to listen too. It gets you thinking each time you hear it. All in all this song is fantastic! And the guitar solo is bitchin! LED ZEPPELIN ROCK! |

| Elton John – Your Song Lyrics

This song is so incredibly beautiful. Elton and Bernie are fantastic! The lyrics are so simple yet when sung they sound amazing. Simply beautiful. I remember an interview Ewan McGregor did after Moulin Rouge in which he said that the lyrics to a song (Im assuming "Come What May") are so simple that they can't be spoken, they must be sung. I think that that also applies to this song. |

According to what is written in the cover of Elton's greatest hits 1972-2002, there was another verse at the end of the song that gave the song a specific meaning, but Elton decided to omit Bernie's last verse which made the remaining words open to misinterpretation. ELTON JOHN IS AMAZING!!! just thought id add that in lol. |
