Travis said during a Gym Class Heroes show that this song is NOT about cocaine. He's using coke as a metaphor of being addicted to music and how much of a high music can give someone. The whole song is a metaphor. He specifically says, "Isn't it fun, how MUSIC makes your lips numb?" He also said that he would never write a song praising cocaine when he actually condemns it. He said he's lost a lot of friends who were doing coke. |
