I could swear someone already said this, but I looked through the comments and didn't see it My favorite part of the song is "Those watermelon smiles just can’t ripen underwater" But it always reminds me of those watery smiles, when you're crying but you smile in spite of it all and its shakey? I don't know but I've thought of that ever since I first heard this song. And I realllly think this isn't a song where you can make sense of it all or make it into a story. It's like he wrote down his thoughts, his daydreams. Like a stream of consciousness? And in a dream, things don't always have to make sense or tell a story. |

I know why this songs reminds people of the Virgin Suicides. It gives you that same sick feeling, it makes you feel uncomfortable in the same way the Virgin Suicides does. It's beautiful but in many ways so wrong. I can't listen to this song too many times, it makes me feel meaningless and literally sick to my stomach, as only Bright Eye's songs can make me feel. |

How you sacrafice yourself and work so hard on something, wondering if people are going to like it.
