| The song isn't about a breakup. Lou wrote it about a friend of his who had died. He explained that and the story behind it when he performed this song at a tribute concert for Elliott Smith. So it's about the death of a friend and trying to deal with their passing.. it was a suicide, like Elliott's .. that's where the line, "Reenact your legendary tragedy, Do to me what has been done to you" comes in. The lyrics make a lot more sense if you look at it that way, rather than a break up. Anyway, hope that clears things up for you guys. | |
