to me the lyrics are quite straightforward: "These fears come rushing in when I enter here Another layer on my back A blazing fire where our glances meet The largest feeling towering over me" you always see this one person you have a crush on but you've never spoken to them for ex. in a club. so you enter the club full of "fear" and anxiety wondering what's gonna happen when you see your crush again. and your eyes meet all the time and you know you're attracted to each oother but you don't dare to make the first move nor do you show any emotions,ie. you disguise 'the largest feeling' which is love, and you also hide your desire hence 'faces in disguise.' you just keep exchanging surreptitious glances. no smile, nothing. "I long to take you to a secret place Where we could lay aside our past We'd throw the world away with all its pain To shine like stars through storm and clouds and rain" i wish i could be with you and forget everything else that preys on me.
