| Jay-Z – Big Pimpin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
First and foremost, Jay-Z is hands down the best rapper alive. And in the realm of greatest rappers ever. And if it's been said once, it's been said a million times before but one of the craziest hooks ever. hands down. infectious. ANYWAYS I believe the "til I need to beat they guts" line that everyone is confused about is he picks them up when he needs to have sex with them. As in, does it real hard, etc... (you get the point) The lines after help this theory |

| Gym Class Heroes – Cupid's Chokehold Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ive heard many, many songs..but never, ever, do I want to hear pankcakes, old senile men and alka seltzer in the same song. Matter of fact, I dont want to hear any song about it. But you know that you have hit the ocean deep when your definition of love "is she's got porcelain skin of course she's a ten and now she's even got her own song" Yeah and I'm sure she hates the song too. Supertramp, in my "opinion" and yes, it's entitled to me..sucks. It's also quoted in High Fidelity, so try arguing with that. However, if I had to choose this, or breakfast in america I'd be having way too many pancakes for my own good. But hey, what the hell do I know..i'm just bitching. |

| Sonic Youth – Eric's Trip Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| The Divine Comedy – Everybody Knows (Except You) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| If not the best Stones song, then definitely in (my) top 3 at least. | |
| Scissor Sisters – I Don't Feel Like Dancin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Agreed. A very good song indeed, however the first album was the killer for Me. Erol Alkan has a hands down, AMAZING remix of this. I recommend everyone to go listen to it. |

| Air – Venus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
As everyone has mentioned, I adore this song. The music, written is complex melodies that create brilliant sounds. Although the lyrics may appear simple, theyre effective to the right kinds of people, depending on if you can relate or not [generally speaking, this goes for all or most lyrics] Moreover, I just wanted to send a big what the hell to louisagiffard in comparing this to Venus in Furs How? and..why? I mean, just because it has venus in it, dosent mean its releative. I mean, think of if we did that with the word Love.. |

| Big Brother & The Holding Company – Summertime Lyrics | 19 years ago |

to "lovely" above there and to anyone else who this may concern, one last thing. and even though "lovely" wrote this in 04, who knows, might answer someone elses question the duet was between Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong |
| Big Brother & The Holding Company – Summertime Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song, which, is up there with "Me and Bobby Mcgee" and "Mercedes Benz" as my favourite Janis songs is actually the most covered song along with the Beatles' "Yesterday" Here's to Summertime 06, have a goodone everybody! |

| The Velvet Underground – Venus in Furs Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Yes, Last Days is a fanfuckingtastic movie at that, I'm also excited for "Factory Girl" Extremely excited. In fact, Weezer is to play the Velvet underground, I say bring back Yo La Tengo from "I shot Andy Warhol" Anyways, its obvious that this song is about S&M In fact, My friend and I threw a party with this song being the central theme, it was a ball. |
| Belle & Sebastian – Song for Sunshine Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I'd have to say this is the best thing I've heard 2006 produce. Makes me excited for all the wonderful things this year is going to unfold. I take the "Sunshine, we all see the same sky.." line as perhaps everyone is looking upond the same sky, and even when it's raining in your town, its sunny and warm elsewhere. Just a thought. |
| The Fiery Furnaces – Straight Street Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Traveling Salesman perhaps? Hey, fucking great song whatever the case |
| Lou Reed – Perfect Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Bleh. Can people listen to a fucking Elliott Smith or Lou Reed song and NOT think it's about drugs? Whatever, it's cool, it probably has some drug refrences in there, if not the whole damn song. But I'm going to leave that aside for a second.. First and formost, Transformer is a wonderful album! Second off, I think it's about being sick [or addicted?] to something before, and then having a friend come when you are all alone and bored and scared, pick you up and do something [like feeding the animals] And you felt so touched by their suprise visit, that you realize that you wouldnt have wanted to spend it with anyone else, but alas, the days cant last forever, and when the fun is done, you're still an addict, or sick, but at least for one day, you could forget that. thats what I have to say about it oh and, trainspotting is fanfuckingtastic. |
| The Smiths – Panic Lyrics | 20 years ago |
No doubt that this is yet another wonderfull addition to The Smiths song collection, and I cant really say anything else that hasnt been said.. Except for this. This group, you guys might know of them; PANIC! AT THE DISCO Took their name from another group [forgot] homage to this song, which disgusts me becuase Panic! is perhaps the worst band I have ever heard in my entire life, and I'm appaled that I have such a close connection to them and the Smiths. Then again, I like Wham. And according to mdeaves they are bad music. Ha |
| My Bloody Valentine – When You Sleep Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Everything about this song is a work of art, from the production, to the gutiars, to the lyrics and even the slightly vague song title [which is actually, totally contrary, becuase you can add whatever you want to it i.e. "When you sleep.." whatever, i'm over-analizing this] Loveless is a brilliant album and Kevin Shields is a phenominal singer. |
| The Beach Boys – Wouldn't It Be Nice Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I can completely relate. Having all these dreams, and aspirations, but yet you can't drive, and get a job, and be well, legal. haha. That you just want to change time and get everything started. Hands down, one of my favourites. Everyone should own Pet Sounds. |
| The Beach Boys – I Just Wasn't Made For These Times Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Me and my girlfriend absloutely adore this song. We both feel as if we should have been living in the twenties, or the sixties. And that all of our intrests, demeanor, ect..are completely relevant to that of those times. Overall, It's about someone who feels that if they were born in another time, they would fit in, unlike they do now. However, I make the absloute best of these times, my girlfriend does as well :] |
| The Smiths – Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I can easily say that this is one of my favourite songs. As most people have pointed out, it's probably about a jerk-off drunk who is trying to convince his [girlfriend/wife] of mabye a certian siutation, that he's told this story far too many times before, as if he goes to a pub every night and comes home late and drunk and sometimes passes out, or hurts himself. As far as the "Nothing's changed.." lines, I'm guessing its Morrissey [if he's writing this in his point of view] convincing the girl/guy[?] to just move on as if nothing has happened, and that even though he still loves her, he probably loves getting wasted more. |

| Zero 7 – Destiny Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Oh yes, Destiny. Lovely song Alright, as someone currently in a wonderful, thriving long-distance relationship, I can fully relate to this song, and what it's trying to empathize. What it means to me, is that the love of your life is not always in your own hometown, and that there is one person out there for someone, and that even though you can always be by each other, when your talking with the guy/girl, you can feel them right next to you, and it has the same effect as if they were with you in person, that love is more powerful than distance. There you have it, from someone who knows, of course, this is one of those songs where it differs for everyone. |
