| Moneen – The Song I Swore to Never Sing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i just randomly played this song without ever actually hearing it before, and i'll be damned if the lyrics don't completely align with what's going on in my life these days. kind of weird. but i really like this song. it's nice to be able to relate to something when you really need it. | |
| Bob Seger – Still The Same Lyrics | 19 years ago |

this song is absolutely terriffic. the lady backup singers are what make this song so great for me, truthfully. time can change you but you can't change time, which apparently does not apply in the case of the character in this song. |

| The Format – Career Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |

this is such a great song. it's the future. what it holds and what you'll make of it, whether it will be a success or a failure, who may or may not be there with you, and making amends with the past. |

| Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this song is a classic. 'konstantine' has the incredible ability to say so many things about young love, and how tragic it can be. i love you, i miss you, i'm sorry, i hate you. imagine being the person he wrote this about. now that has to be a wild feeling. |

| Jimmy Eat World – The World You Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i know jimmy eat world has a history of writing songs with very downtrodden themes, but this song always felt very optimistic [save for the "it doesn't seem there's hope for me, i let you down" lyric]. it's probably my favorite jew song ever. "don't it feel like sunshine after all, the world we loved forever gone." it's definitely about being young. whatever it was he had just gone through, he's perfectly content with where he is in his life and what had just happened to him. there's so much more to come ["the open road is still miles away"], but to just ENJOY your time and the people you share it with. |

| The Postal Service – Such Great Heights Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
the first twenty seconds are my favorite part of the entire song, right before the bass keyboard comes in. it's kind of ethereal and way awesome. i think this song is about being a part of two worlds, your own and the one you share with other people. the verses are his missing and wanting to be with the one he loves, and the chorus is how they are when they are together. ["everything looks perfect from far away... but we'll stay"]. |
