I thougt it was orginally Michael Bubles song.. but anyway, great song! I heard (and saw) it for the first time on youtube.com where they sing it on radio 3. the radio had told them they couldnt swear or anything like that so in the middle of the song matt just started saying stuff like "fuck it, fucking fuckers, fuck you" etc. just to piss em off =) |

man, its a beautiful song(!) ... but am I the only one who thinks that the "my world is crumbliiing" parts sort of ruins the song a little? the slow parts are really amazing and the faster parts are ok but I dont think they fit in with the rest of the song. |

I think that the song is about how his girlfiend treats him bad, but since he still loves her, can´t break up with her. At first he says stuff like "mascara bleeds a blackened tear" etc etc. like if she´s the one that would miss him if the broke up, when it´s actually the other way around ("mascara bleeds into MY eye").
At first he says:
"No buildings will fall down
No quake will split the ground
The sun won't swallow the sky
Statues will not cry"
and as you can hear, all these things are metaphores for something that would be important events in everybody´s world, but then the lyrics continues:
"my headstone crumbles down" etc etc
wich explains how it´s not something that would leave the rest of the humanitys world upside down, but would leave his.
i don´t know if all this makes sence to you, but it´s... hard to explain. |
