| Nevermore – Born Lyrics

Anti-Religion. My Christian friends REALLY hate this song. It makes so many valid points and opens your eyes. Just because somebody has different beliefs than you, that does not make them inferior. They are the same as you, Born we are the same. Religion has blinded us into believing that one group is far superior and everybody else is going to that one aforementioed group's hell. Typically, Christians are the chief offenders, but that is not always the case. |

Yup, We are all useless. This song kinda sparked an epiphany for me. "Holy colon. What do I mean to the rest of the world? Nothing..... just a speck in the spectrum, Insignificant, am I." |

| Nevermore – The Psalm of Lydia Lyrics

It tells the tale of "Lydia", upon first reading, it appears to be some woman (Girl on cover of album perhaps?) but knowing Nevermore, it probably goes way deeper than that. |

Dane is the character, there is a long story about that. But yeah, these lyrics rock. Best on the whole album. And I think you're right about the theme. |

| Nevermore – The Lotus Eaters Lyrics

I know the Lotus Eaters from "The Odyssey", but that's it. I guess it could fit in some obscure, metaphoric way. This song is a cry out to God, why has he left him? What was his pupose in taking away his girlfriend? I think that's it. |

| Nevermore – The Heart Collector Lyrics
|
I read somewhere that it means something like people are lured to the Heart Collectors song and give them their hearts [souls, lives]. Basically people who believe that they have nothing left. So this picture painted by this idea is that of a man in dark robes (like the Grim Reaper) walking down a lonely path. Surrounded by withering trees and a bright moonlight looming overhead. I envision him carrying some sort of bag or knapsack to keep his earnings.....
Just me though..... |

Basically it means that computers could soon become the same as humans, and nobody would ever tell the difference, eventually leading to the downfall of human civilization. Kinda reminds me of The Terminator. |

Yeah, this is probably the least metaphorical song Nevermore has written. It's pretty much straight up saying what this world has become. |

| Nevermore – A Future Uncertain Lyrics

I think Nostradamus was a crackpot, and people only praise all the predictions he predicted correctly, not the ones that never happened. Anyway the line:
To set our mind free you must first just listen
Don’t waste your life on worthless hate and contradiction, don’t you
Really sticks out to me. |

| Nevermore – My Acid Words Lyrics

This sounds like one of those "on the verge of suicide" songs. It's kinda hard to explain the lyrics, I just had a friend become suicidal, this song reminded me of him. Thankfully, he's better now. |

It tells about the birth of the bloodthirsty dinosaur monster Gor-Gor. It is told in the GWAR mythos that the Scumdogs found an egg. Slymenstra wished to nurture it, but the other GWARiorrs got their way and shot it up with crack. |
