you fools. there actually was an emily. she was sonny's girlfriend for a long time, and there are two different stories: One is that sonny went out on tour, and Emily cheated on him and got pregnant. As a result, Sonny was heartbroken. The other story is that Sonny cheated on Emily several times on the tour (not surprising, the kid was practically a fucking rock star), and emily found out, and left him, despite several apologies from Moore. Another story is that she killed herself, but this is almost certainly false. So yeah, this is a love song Sonny Moore wrote for Emily. She is amazingly gorgeous. :D |

Oh man... First time I heard this song I was 5. 1997. Then I heard it a year ago, after the last day of middle school was over, and the last time I saw the girl I'm madly in love with. What made it more appealing was the slight yet comforting familiarity of hearing a song you haven't heard since you were really young. This song hit home for me, especially that last chorus. Totally climactic right there. I almost get tears to my eyes whenever this soong comes on the radio. Third Eye Blind might be one of my favorite bands. |

| This song is about losing the one you love. Dexter Holland wrote it after his first wife died in a car accident and he was forced to care for his daughter on his own. This subject has always been lingering in my head, and hearing Dexter sing about it and seeing him perform with such emotion in the video further adds to the sadness of the song. It's beautiful yet dark at the same time. I think that the only other Offspring songs that come close to being as good as this are Self Esteem and The Kids Arent Alright | |
