Someone mentioned the Berlin wall - how America is doing the same thing as East Germany - however, this argument is nonsense. The Wall was built to keep people in, not out.
Someone else mentioned how part of song "sounds like some middle eastern tune that meshes in with the (maybe perceived) political statement that they are trying to make against the U.S." - it might be a way to refer to the Muslim immigration that's affecting so many countries.
About Mexican immigration: It is wrong to let illegal immigrants in or let them stay, and it would be wrong to allow more immigration. The reason is not simply that it hurts the economy or gives some a "free ride". It's a very plain and logical one. There are perhaps hundrerds of millions of people in this world that would like to live in a country like America. Why? Their home countries are plagued with problems that have been virtually solved in the West. However, letting them all come at will is not the answer. The world's problems must be solved at the source, not sidestepped by letting all who wish hide inside our borders.
(Please noone reply that "the source" of the world's problems is the USA; I'm very sick of that.) |

| Stars – Celebration Guns Lyrics

If I was just looking at the lyrics, without previous knowledge of Stars' politics, I would say that the song could be about not American troops in Iraq, but their enemy.
The main thing that makes me think so is that coalition troops don't laugh while killing their enemy, and certainly don't celebrate when people die, with "beating drums". Terrorist factions do.
Also, while it can be said that America has a "history buried in shame", it doesn't come close to the history of the middle east.
If there wasn't a reference to "desert wind", I would even say that the song is about the Holocaust, like carjie suggested. The 666 would make sense then.
Of course, this song does seem to be a protest of the war. Still sounds great, though. |

Wow no one commented on this one.
I thought that drum rhythm at the start would go on forever... No matter how emotionally meaningful the lyrics might be the singing isn't at all. |

I just saw the video and its pretty obvious that he's dead, maybe having commited suicide like strider3005 pointed out. This is a video that actually adds to the song's meaning instead of taking away from it. |

Yes I think he's looking back on his life and how things were bad and saying to the young people to just be happy and enjoy life anyways even if their life is going badly. |

I agree with simsfreg - I think shedding the summer skin in this song is more about leaving happy memories and hopes behind and going on to a more serious future. |

I don't really get the video either but I think at the start he's in that puddle remembering what happened to him earlier before he fell into the puddle, which happens at the end of the video. So there's something with the "Killersluts" sign that they have that gets shortened to "Killers"... And the women throwing those boomerang things at the men and the last goes down with a fight... I don't know. |

Very good song except the "ignite your bones" part. Could we have a less gory-visual heavy chorus?
The video is a bit lame. What's he doing just standing there waving a flashlight around? |
