| Cursive – Driftwood: A Fairy Tale Lyrics | 20 years ago |

most people have already adressed the meaning to this song... its about the lies people tell themselves and others to fill the lonley void... and the charactors involved in the process... and about how once familiarity sets in, and the temporary magic has worn off, you are back where you started... drifting allong at the whim of the ocean tides... some things other haven't said... the reason why the subject is pinochio is because 1 he is a liar(lying to himself and his lover) , and 2 he is empty and hollow... there are other similarities to pinochio, but these seem to be the most obvious ones. the fairy seems magical at first... giving pinochio that temporary satisfaction of making him feel complete... but because it is a fairy tale, with no real substantial basis, other than a fantasy... the magic eventually dwindles, and pinochio realizes he is a liar afterall... and so he goes back to drift just like you found him at the begining of the song... its a cycle, of temporary fullfillment and dissapointment many people repeat... the whispering at the end of the song, is Tim planting hidden messages into your mind so you will only love cursive, and fantsize about Him and His lyrics... YOu wondered why you loved this song so much?! |
