| Sarah McLachlan – Good Enough Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This has to be one of my favorite songs by Sarah. To me, the first verse is almost a conversation between two older people, a scene I'd imagine two people having over coffee, when one is getting ready to return home or leave. The second verse reminds me distintly of child abuse. Being that I was abused as a child, being lured with candy into that situation, it makes sense to me. It could possibly be speaking of the abuse that the person endured earlier in life by a male relative (since "he" is used). The person singing the song to that person explains that "I don't understand" (perhaps because they've never been through it) but wants them to know they are there for them and wants them to believe they are good enough. |
