i agree with what other people are saying in a sense... he is dying yes, but i don't believe it is an ACTUAL death, more like a symbolic one. like all of the cameras and lights on him all the time are draining him and wearing him out. and i don't think the "fall" is an actual fall either, maybe a fall from fame. "Cutting through just like champagne petals sprinkled over the blackest sea urban stars will shine, electric, they keep on calling. As they beckon I'm enamored of the sight." i think this means fame kind of came suddenly for him and he loved it, the attention, the cameras flashing (we all know davey is a ham), he was very drawn to it, "hollywood". "Ascending slowly with hopes of finding one small moment of clarity I escape the blackness cast upon me. I still can't see as you bind me, murder me from miles away. I will finish this today for you." now he's growing a little tired of the attention and it's hard for him to find time for himself. he's also getting a bit resentful. "Descending quickly with hopes of sharing all the things you've shared with me, I'll chase the digital eyes below me. Through them you'll see as I fall with digital omniscient eyes capturing me one last time for you." this is my favorite part. he's not killing himself. he's not jumping off of a tower or anything. he is on stage, performing, maybe at his last show, a "going out with a bang" show. he wants it to be special and connect with his fans. the cameras are taking his picture for the last time. "This is my breakthrough. Oh, forget me not. When you see me soaring and the lights are screaming, you'll forget me not." no one will forget the amazing show he put on and he doesn't want to be forgotten, he's just basically retiring, lol. |

beautiful song indeed. i think it's about two people who were very much in love at one time. he fucked up something and he's saying he's sorry for hurting her and he still loves her. she says she loves him too but she's still pissed off, and he doesn't know what to do to make her forgive him so he's like giving up. he's like fuck you if you don't accept my apology i'm moving on. |
