Ugh.... Simple Plan still has the whiny in them. I could tell by the lyrics this was obviously SP because their lyrics are connectable but not that great. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see them back, but I prefer untitled. IMO they went overboard with the pop sound. The song and the song title When I'm Gone is way too overused. The music video is not too good either, it still has that "pop" theme to it. "Life is what happens while you're busy making your excuses" "Every wasted day, is a wasted chance" Possibly the best lines out of the song. The only thing that keeps me playing the song is all SP songs are pretty easy to sing. He hardly uses any wind, and its good warmup during the interlude. This song IS basically about how he's at least trying to excel while others are just doing nothing AKA procrastinating. He doesn't directly mean procrastinating, but he means while people are trying to be 'gangsta' and popular, ASK YOURSELF, are they thinking ahead? Later on in life when their mom kicks them out of the house, they're gonna wish they did something like "that other kid". He could be targeting society in general or a specific person. Scripted Destiny...nice Misery loves company...also overused Nice writing out the lyrics. Perfect. If you feel I'm a buzzkill, I frankly don't care, so call me an ass instead. |

| This is by far, the best song ever written. I've been listening to it for 6 weeks straight, it never gets old, and the adrenaline kicks in everytime during the solo. And the song is so meaningful. | |

This song rocks! The music video doesn't contribute much to the meaning, the true meaning of the song, but it is still awesome. It may be about NYC but it still grips the possibility that being a celebrity isn't all that good. Ryan Key is an excellent lyricist. I envy him. He always hits the spot and creates the illusion that thats what you are feeling. By the way, NYC could also stand for New YellowCard since Ben left a while ago instead of New York City. Whit_LeAnn_45 is right. Just wanted to get that out. This interpretation just makes more sense. You know, pretty soon my band will be on Fuse and MTV and I'll look back on this song and say it was my inspiration. My band ShardZ will make it. I can feel it. This is where it starts. LP and YC rock. |

This song represents me and my life and I can't get it out of my head. Words reverbrating, bouncing off of my mind and these lyrics are the only thing that penetrated. I have my own band, and the lot of them are too caught up in the moment to be of any use to me. I'm not trying to control them or anything. This song held me up when I was down because I did what it said before in my life and now I'm better off. I may have a lot more enemies but the feeling of satisfaction and victory told me I did something right for once. This song is about some one who is to overconfident, who didn't know what they were getting into, and now, they're part of the process, or dead. Now they want out of this hellhole and to restart and rejump their life. Just thing about it. Maybe we'll find a bigger picture to it. I'm out. LP and YC Rock :p |
