Thank you penguinjeff , I just got enlightened to this song a short time ago and came here looking to see if I could find a reason here why this song is really growing on me. I don't know why, but was almost feeling like just quitting on life (not totally, just like, sigh) anyways, my friend i was IM'ing with at that time had thrown out this song as a possible karaoke pick. So I qued it up on my pc and looked up the lyrics and was just almost locked on the screen as i listened to the song and read the lyrics. I felt like I wasn't alone for a brief moment. I know it probably doesn't make sense, I'm not doing a good job of wording things properly. But I digress, the song just totally made me a bit happy. Because like I wrote before, I was feeling like crap on life and this song changed that for me. If at least for a moment. lol I also apologize for not being able to add a meaning to the song, but I'll need a bit more time to put my answer together for that. I'm sorry. |

| I used to looooooooooooooove Debbie Gibson (not that i don't love her now). Anyways, I just wanted to share a quick anecdote, but when I was in high school (a freshman i think... i smoked alot :p) anyways, one day (i was in band by the way) well, one day my mom picked me up right after school and told me to tell my band director i wasn't able to stay that day for practice, I nearly died from happiness when she surprised me with tickets to her show that night (was in Austin) and I live in San Antonio, so we had to haul ass there to make it, and man, i was so happy. I still smile when I think of it now. She was and still is a beautiful woman whose voice sang her lyrics just so beautifully. Sorry for the sharing, i've been drinking a bit and heard her song on my winamp player which is on shuffle... hehe.. i'm a rambler when buzzing... take care ^^ Robert | |

I'm sorry to have to ask this, but i'm kind of OCD when it comes to me finding out an answer to a question... anyways.. I was watching "Flight of the Navigator" on tv earlier, and a couple of times in the movie when the spaceship would open up and make stairs for the boy, the sound effect of the stairs sounded a lot like a part in "Ed's Scary Song" I know this is probably the wrong place to post but its a start. Could someone help me out on this please? ^^ |

when I first heard this song, I imagined that the singer was an artist (in the sense of painting, sculptures, etc) and that he was talking about his current art piece that he was working on... Sometimes people become obsessed with thier projects, and it may appear like an addiction... "Things you'd expect to be Having effect on me Pass undetectedly But everyone knows what has got me" could be the project "speaking" to him while he's working on it... |
