They Might Be Giants – How Can I Sing Like a Girl? Lyrics 18 years ago
In live shows Flansburgh has to sing in a high voice for part of the song She Was a Hotel Detective, and apparently caught some flak about it, jokingly of course, so this song came about in part by that, and is pretty much representative of the freedom to express yourself how you choose.

Deb Talan – Rocks And Water Lyrics 19 years ago
This song, as well as a few others really remind me of Dave Carter and Tracey Grammer. Amazing stuff by the Weepies.

Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer – Tanglewood Tree Lyrics 20 years ago
Dave said before a performance once that it's about how sometimes love doesn't turn out the way it ought to. How it starts out like a beautiful bud, and blooms into a beautiful flower, but then keeps on growing into something wierd and narled, like a tanglewood tree that you are just all caught up in.

Nickel Creek – Somebody More Like You Lyrics 20 years ago
He's being sarcastic, he doesn't think it's his fault, and when he wishes that she finds someone just like her, he's wishing that she finds someone that will hurt her like she hurt him, because she is just a small person, not short.
