As the first girl said, the spoken part seems to be from The Collector a movie about a kinda crazy, loner, butterfly collecting man who stalks and kidnaps a young woman to make her fall in love with him. As the IMDB one line summary put it, "A man kidnaps a woman and holds her hostage just for the pleasure of having her there," which besides the woman bit, is what I think the song is about. Also, the lyrics don't contain one thing that supports this, where at the end it goes, (It's funny) Until then Until then Until then (It's getting easier) I'll keep you Locked up tight In my collection I think this song is about someone who has a big dream, like being a rock star, but keeps it locked away as a comforting ambition that he will never actually follow. "It's funny/it's getting easier" is about how, surprisingly, that gets easier with time. |
