| Why no comments? Amazing song off of the deluxe edition of Liebe Ist Für Alle Da. My German isn't great, but I believe it translates into "Danube Children", and directly refers to a flood-related disaster on the Danube River in 1999 or 2000. Heavy rains caused a dam rupture, which triggered massive flooding of local townships and a nearby mine. Toxic materials from the mine were swept into the river, which contaminated water supplies and poisoned much of the area wildlife. Just a guess, but I'd interpret the 'kinder'/children in this song to be the fish and other creatures around the river. Given Rammstein's proclivity of airing out disastrous events, including that of their namesake (the Ramstein Air Show disaster), I think it fits. | |

| I also agree that there is more substane to the song than mere sex, but I have one issue with the suicide theory... For those who have been talking about the "cold can kill us before fumes" line, the full verse is "A COLD can kill us before fumes", not "THE COLD". The use of "A" instead of "The" implies that the two of them might both be around long enough to initially catch a cold as a result of being out that night. I don't think it implies that they could freeze to death before the exhaust does them in... | |
