this song sounds like a person dying (the first calm section), the soul leaving the body (the loud part) and then ascending upwards.

apparently the producer of 'berlin' locked his own children in a cupboard and told them their mother wasn't coming back, pressed record and later used their frantic screaming on this song. nice. |

i've always thought that this song is about heroin, i'm glad that others do too. the last line gives it away for me - 'you're going to reap just what you sow' - meaning the user is going to pay later, after the effects of the drug have worn off and his 'perfect day' is over - and what do people sow with ?? a needle. |
