I dunno, I always thought that the "birds stealing bread" line was about guilt, in a way. This part especially: " do his hands in your hair feel a lot like a thing you believe in or a bit like a bird stealing bread out from under your nose?" makes me think it's more than 'dang, my women got stolen' or whatever. He's asking if she really feels like her new guy's 'the one', if he has what they used to have together, or if there's something off about it- doesn't feel true or lasting, 'bird stealing bread'. Don't know how much sense that makes to anyone but me. |
