This song is so awesome. I'm fairlly certain its about sort ofr a situation if Christ were here to day and how he would shake up the establishment. Its told from the perspective of some else though, a follower and believer. I think it can be summed up with the lyrics " Whats wrong with a little destruction." That society has slipped farther and farther into a system that is "sinful" or just plain bad. |

i think that the God is wearing black statement is not that God is evil or that religion is bad but rather that God is always mourning our foolish loss, caused by our fighting. I don't mean that in any religious way but the symbolism of the Supreme being at all the funerals of the fallen soldiers is a message about war and its terrible nature |

I believe that almost everything said here so far is true. That it is about love and rebellion and all that. But i also think that this album has an actual story to it. This song is the first chapter. funeral is a tale. What seems to have happened is that the some terrible catastophy has happened (probably nuclear war based on the winter and collapse of society). For what ever reason some people have survived. These protagonists have lost their families and are very young. They fall in love in this post apocalypic world and are happy despite their troubles. But they remember their old lives and what they used to love. They live with this burden of lost families and friends and thoughts. But their love is what keeps them "warm" in this winter. So all the elements of abstract thought and concepts that everyones been talking about exist but i think that this album is also a literal meaning, that of a story. The rest of the album goes onto descibe there conflicts, world, love and self realization. |
