i think she does sound a lot like lilly allen, but i personally like kate nash better. although the lyrics are simple, i think kate has a better voice. i also think its unfair to slander sandi thom here... i wish i was a punk rocker is technically a hard song to sing... so although you might not like her, she has a good voice - a lot better than some of the computerized shit in the charts! i like this song because of its simplicity. you don't need a hundered metaphors or a dictionary based song to show off a pretty voice. i don't think she's anything special, especially considering lily allen's now in the charts, but this is quirky and cute. |

well. i think its simpler than it looks, if you just read it properly. "These roads are paved with plans we've made, and your headboards never felt so safe. Well they'll reach our graves" he's saying that the plans they made will reach their graves - i.e the plans won't ever be carried out. the second verse, the 'etching the names ... i've changed' bit, sounds to me like he's worried that although he thinks his friends have changed, and the plans they made will go to THEIR grave, because he'll still do them, he's scared that maybe its HIM that's changed, and not them. but thats just how i see it. xx |

the line 'rock into this night' is actually ''rock until there's light'' i love this song, reminds me - like so many other people! - of my friends. it's about someone saying that, even though the place that they live in is rubbish, and they can't wait to leave, their friends are there, and so it's perfect anyways. and even though it is rubbish, he wouldn't change it for the world, because that's the place where the 'good old days' took place. |

OldskoolrockerJTS --- Firstly, why bother looking on this band's lyric page, if you don't like them? Doesn't that kind of defy your whole 'slagging off message' And.. so what if they play easy music. As far as I'm concerned, just because I don't like a certain genre of music, doesn't mean that it isn't good, or that hard work goes into it. Just because you ONLY like REAL ROCK, doesn't mean there aren't other bands. And to be honest, I don't think AAR are 'trying' to be emo or punk. It's pop. Or Rock-Pop.
