obviosuly he's speaking of drugs and how they only temporarily distract you from the fact that we're left alone and confused in life. and the huge pressure that comes with this fact when the drug wears off. beautiful song but the dude has got to switch drugs! he's probably speaking of heroin cuz he mentioned addiction and the mood of the song is nowhere close to being colorful |

I might not get what all the song's about but It's just a great song! it just makes me so sad! I'm Persian and there's an old persian saying that says "whatever comes from the heart, is taken by heart"...I guess the reason this song and all the other songs by damien rice touches people's hearts is because it all comes purily from a broken heart. that's why the sadness gets you eventhough you might not understand the lyrics all the time. Hope he don't get caught up in fame and money and continue singing his pure way.Because without that purity in his heart and in his soft voice he'll be no different from any ~Justin Timberlake~ (ugh!!!) |
