i think this song is about a guy putting up a facade of being tough and not showing his feelings, but he's tired of keeping it up and just wants to let out his emotions, either he wants to let a girl know he likes her, or that he's not "bulletproof" and just wants to cry like everyone else. |

i'm assuming this song is about the movie 'pursued'. it's about a guy named jeb rand whose family was killed when he was a boy, so as an adult he's lost all his childhood memories except for his family's murder ("memory is what you know, not what you see"). also, the killers find out that he is still alive so they try to hunt him down ("jeb rand, running from bullets of his past") and jeb tries to remember his childhood to figure out who murdered his family. |
