| Modest Mouse – March Into the Sea Lyrics

There's definitely some sort of evolution thing going on here---I've only listened to it a few times so I'm still shaky on the meaning as a whole. But--> "Our tails wagged and then fell off
But we just turned back, marched into the sea"
As we evolved we came out of the sea, initially with tails but as we kept growing genetically we eventually lost these vestigial features.
There seems to be a sense of returning to where we came from-- on a scale far more grandiose than that of a single human life. On an epic evolutionary scale. I'll post more later :( |

It seems to me like it can be taken at face value. Just the beauty of a moment of pure unadulterated joy. Something rare and amazing. |

The line, "I've always depended on the kindess of strangers" said by Blance DuBois in a Streetcar Named Desire is one of the most famous last lines of any play.. Or mabye it's the penultimate line. But there's gotta be some link. |

No, it's saying that Che has been made into such a pop culture icon that it's beginning to become sort of passe to support his ideals, when these ideals are in fact timeless and transcened stupid fucking pop sensibilities. |

It's about trying to understand life on a more metaphysical and intellectual level, but in the process isolating yourself completely from your previous, and likely more comfortable, concept of reality. This is, naturally, a horrible isolated feeling, but there may be no way to return again, you're stuck alone in your own world. and then you worry that you're going crazy... |
