I never said you were, Quiffporn (is it ok if i refer to you as Quiffy henceforth? it's easier to type and sounds funnier...actually, no, forget that...). I was on about Yournewgod, he just seems to have major issues when it comes to goths...I have a few friends who are goths too...and some who are generally odd. I think that when it comes to it, a person is a person and though people can be similar they're different in little ways so you shouldnt take the pee out of a whole group of people if you only know one or two of them. (Im perfectly justified in hating chavs as they are the scum of the earth and i have met too many for my liking.) |

Eh Yournewgod...im not too sure what point you're trying to make there...Yeah i must me slow, or thick or both...Why dont you go on a goth-hater site to post all that? Or have a rant at that friend of yours who seems to have sparked this off, try telling her that she's being stupid instead of rambling at a load of people you dont know who havent done anything to you. Just a suggestion, i dont really mind people critizising bands i like, i find hearing their bad points as interesting as Quiffporn no doubt finds finding out why people like the bands he hates. Id just prefer if people kept more to the "this band is shit because..." rather than "i hate goths because of stupid stereotypical wannabe behaviour and therefore all fans of this band are fakes...". Oh, and i agree with the person who said something simliar about this earlier- Why bother going on to a lyrics site, specifically searching for a band you hate, then bash them? Dont yu have anything better to do with your time, like go on lyic pages of bands you DO like? (Quiffporn can be the exception, the dude is funny) And as for this being "emo" music, that leaves me to pity you for being fed crap by the media (MTV mostly) and actually being stupid enough to take it word for word. Do you have any idea what emo music really is? And no, it generally isnt the stuff that sad emo kiddies sit listening to while slittng their wrists. Go look up something like Rites of spring if you want to bash real emo music...which has very little, if anything to do with emo kids. So, about the song itself...
This is one of my favourite HIM songs, but mainly for the instrumental side because it sounds different to a lot of other songs by them. I do like the lyrics too, because of how Ville seems to flippantly throw out a load of lyrics which fit into each other and make a lot of sense to me (I know people have said they dont get the lyrics, fair enough, their opinion not mine). Most of all i like the energy in this song :) |

If someone bashes a band you like, just let them have their say, if they said something worth commenting on, then do so otherwise ignore them. HIM are one of my favourite bands and i like a range of music (mostly rock or rock-related). Other bands I regularly listen to are: Deep purple, Green day, My chemical romance, Cradle of filth, Queen and Nirvana. I dont get mad and start frothing at the mouth if someone else doesnt worship the bands i like or agree with everything i say (because that would just be boring). The only thing that does make me mad is people who talk superiorly about "14 year old hormonal girls" because i happen to be a 14 year old girl and im not all over the place and over emotional. I do find Ville Valo attractive, but im not one of those sad obsessive people who decide they are "in love" with a band member who is much older than them and probably either has a girlfriend/boyfriend (whatever their preference) or doesnt particularly want one. As for being a "goth", i was under the impression that goth was just a way of dressing. I sometimes wear old fashioned clothes which could be defined as "gothic" (dresses and the like) but that isnt to "find an identity" as someone put it, it's just because i like dressing that way. Where i live, being a goth, grunger, punk or whatever isnt something that makes you fit in because sadly the area is overrun with chavs.
Anyway, ok rant over, i just wanted to point that out because it isnt right to be prejudiced against teenagers who cant force themselves to age faster or anything! |

Umm...well done to the people who are actually bothering to talk about the song rather than HIM hater dissing the band and HIM fans dissing the haters...Even though I can see that the quiffporn guy can be annoying i dont think you can really get too mad at him because he's funny and he does seem to liven things up.
Anyway, on with the song or ill be being a hypocrite. I love this song, and i dont know about the band's intentions or whatever, but to me it sounds like someone in a relationship where they dont want to lose the other person but can feel them slipping away. I think the lines "waiting for your call" and "longing for your touch" are a plea to the other person to comfort the narrator, and attempt to rebuild the relationship. I love the intro to this song because it sounds dramatic, and something I love about most HIM songs is how mournful Ville's voice sounds.
So people can take the piss out of my post thingy if they want, but i really dont care since all im doing is giving my veiwpoint on a song that i like. |
