"For me, this song is about Jesus and Mary Magdeline (sp?). For me, it's talking about Jesus and how someone who would have been a cast out (prostitue) was kind to him and wanted to take care of him. Jesus was appreciative of her kindness and care and loved her regardless of her sins. Just read it from that perspective...it fits for me." I think he's using that (biblical) relationship as a metaphor for his own personal one(s), as someone said earlier. Just my opinion. |
