If this is about God, the virgin Mary and Christ, then god must be one evil dude. For me, though, this song is simply about a father taking out his anger on his son, and maybe there's a sense of the son crying out to god for help. I've been there, too. |

The point of this song is blaspheming religion, as it always is with Deicide. Oh, and by the way, most Satanists don't actually believe in Satan; look up "satanism" on en.wikipedia.org. It's really just doing the complete opposite of everything Christianity teaches. |

I think it's about being against god and religion, but pretending to be for it because of the generally negative perception of non-christians by christians. That whole "There is no city of god/Damn the name of god" line really just gives it away. |

This is a beautiful song, in my opinion. Tibet's innocent voice contrasts greatly with the extremely dark lyrics and creates a creepy sensation not found in any other band.
The song itself is a blaspheme to god, and his cruelties to his very children. Like a child over an antbed with a magnifying glass... |

It's a middle-finger to christianity, another one of those songs with lyrics that atheists/satanists can really enjoy. The drums are killer on this track as well as the guitar riffs. |

This is one of the heaviest songs I've ever heard, period, and also one of my favorite songs of all time. I think it could be about being frustrated with the entire world and feeling absolutely powerless to change it. Maybe the last few lines about immortality is speaking of how there'll always be people like that who don't like the way things are and have to go through the same hopeless shit all over again. It's a difficult song to decipher, though. |

This is pure aesthetic sorrow, and not that cheap emo brand. This is one of the few songs that shows immense beauty and perfect writing without impressive skill. |

It's a very expressionistic song in the way that it expresses such emotion both from the music and to the listener. The vocal parts are rare, but I think they only add another level of sorrow to the experience. This is an amazing song. |

It's a great anti-political song. It gave me that "right on, brother!" feeling. The music for it fits perfectly, and the attitude of the song is so provoking. Some people will agree with it wholeheartedly, some people will disagree, but it's their right to do so. Punk isn't about being all-out for anarchy, it's about having your own opinions, even if you're slapped in the face for it. |

For me, it seems to be speaking of the double life that many religious-fanatics live. They claim to be all-loving and merciful and virgins of the soil, but they are the ones most likely to spit in the face of someone that doesn't agree with them, or they're "shooting their loads" to cabaret slide shows, even though they took a vow of fidelity. Christian Death writes a lot about religious hypocrisy, especially in the firts album. |

The first part is definitely using the KKK as an analogy. It seems to me like they're comparing religions in general to cults; both are usually created for personal gain and masked by fabricated visions of righteousness. I'm not certain about the second part. |

I think they're using taximeters as a metaphor for authority in general. Who the hell should have the right to decide what should be punishable by law? |

I believe it's analyzing how taboo carnal desires can be, and how most people try to quench their thirsts without being seen, in fear of social rejection. |

| Deicide – Blame It On God Lyrics

I love this song. It's one of those songs that makes me say "right on, brother!" in that kind of productive expression of anger. It's probably one of the best atheist anthems ever written. I mean, "you are the one who killed his own son, we are the ones you're blaming it on" is just so full of brutal honesty.
I do agree with several others on this board though, about Deicide only being able to write about one subject. In that way, they're more of a "gotta be in the right mood" band. |

Why don't all of you ignorant, racist, chicken fucks stop calling everything you hate gay or fag? I mean, how old are you, four? I can tell you something twenty times worse than being proud of being different: being a closed-minded hypocrite. |

This is one of my favorite songs, not just from the Ringmaster, but of all ICP's work. The song is essentially about someone dying and becoming a ghost, but not knowing about it. |
