I just finished listening to the latest bruce dickinson radio show, in which he had incubus as a guest...he said there (in short) that it was about how cool it would be to make love in an anti-gravity environment. So yeah. Thats what it's about. |

as said before, a concept album...the only one to use synthesizers thoughout the whole thing, although that doesnt really have anything to do with this...but yeah, pretty obvious meaning to this song, about the arrival of the seventh son, and everyone wants to use him for his apparent powers. Also off topic...I know a guy who's a seventh son of a seventh son...He's really old now, and sometimes I wonder why he's still alive after everything he's been through. |

there is a bit about macbeth...like RainbowDemon said, the first part is the intro to the play...also there's the line about the child being ripped from the womb, which also played a part in the play...of course, some of the things in the song I cant really relate to macbeth, so I dont know if it really is about the play or not. Anyway, its an awesome song. |

Awesome song, indeed about the novel Brave New World by Huxley, awesome book btw...everyone should read it:) Yeah, and one thing... lozi p said something about the genius of dickinsons lyrics. It wasnt only writtin by dickinson, but also by harris (who has a part in writing pretty much every maiden song ever produced) and murray. Just to clear that up for anyone who was unsure. And, excellent explaination by necrox, i couldnt have said it better myself lol. |

it's a great song, first one by WT that I ever heard and the song that got me into the band. I always thought of it as just a little story put into song. Then, after reading the previous posts, i decided to read the story "Snow Queen"...and i have to agree with tranceasleep. And it is a great story too. |

I really dont care whether the song is about a stalker or not...thats not the way i took it when i first heard it, and that impression is going to stay with me. I love this song, I loved if from the moment I heard it years ago...and i have alot of good (and not so good) memories associated with it. It's a great song, one of my very favorites, and it always will be. |

oh, and btw? the lyrics are a little bit off in a few places, but theres one mistake i have to mention...The Chorus!! most of it is right, except for the first line...it doesnt go 'Failure called the venture'...it actually goes 'Fill your cup up, then chug'. just so ya know. anyway, like i said...awesome song!! |

This is a really good song...the first time i heard it, i didnt notice it too much, but then i really listened to the lyrics, and realized what a really great song it is. The second verse is the best one of the whole song. It's always stuck in my head. Oh yeah, and a quick note to the losers who actually take the time to put down the band...seriously, you have way too much time on your hands. There must be something else you can amuse yourself with. |
