Hendrix wrote it after a fight with his girlfriend. after recording fire there was sometime to kill on the studio session, so they wrote the music to go with lyrics that Hendrix already wrote. I think John Mayer does a great cover of this. the best line of the whole song is "A broom is drearily sweeping/Up the broken pieces of yesterday's life" | |
