Whoever said Matt doesn't mix politics with his lyrics is a moron who should know better...while being right on the theme of the album you've missed the point...Matt predicts these things because of what's happening today! so of couse there are contemporary parallels!!! Matt writes his songs so that they can be taken in many different ways...this song happens to suit Iraq very nicelyand i'm sure Mr. Bellamy thought that as he was writing it...I love it...it's a beautiful interlude in the middle of the album. I saw them play it live as well the other night...awesome...truly awesome. |

I wish I could get that word...it must be some sort of alien phenomenom i guess...or something to do with war, Cait Sith01's got it I think, it's definately "will our leaders tell us why" and "fully loaded satellites"...it makes more sense. I think it might be "Target nothing but our minds" This whole album is EXTREMELY political...and, of course, comppletely awesome. I think this song is about how the governments just hide stuff from us...things like Roswell or the satellites that are stealing our thoughts!!! ARGH!!! I love this! It really is great if you blast it out as loud as you can. It's definately called Spiral Static, I have a newer version and it doesn't say Spiritual Static anywhere on the case or the booklet. As far as the lyrics are concerned...a guy who neglects a girl emotionally perhaps?...sorta gives that impression. |

WOOOW!!! This song is just THE SHIT lol. I gets me so hyper. It is simply AMAZING live. Saw them in Sheffield England...packed gig...shows that they're a big band now...and they deserve it too...but they deserve so much more success...COME ON!!! They're better than so many bands out there As for the song, maybe it's about some film they saw. But to me it's got some of the most random lyrics ever. A guy...who got rich by scraping loose change off of the bottom of pools and fountains...gets divorced and never gets to see his son (who hates him now) again beacause he's now got chlorine poisining. Dumbass...depressing last line "You will never see your son again." Fantastic song... |

| I see this amazing song as a song about a guy/girl who's become addicted to cutting themselves because at first it helped them but eventually...it just became numb. A knife is the most important thing in the world to him/her but it doesn't help any more. This person might also be an insomniac or manic depressive. There's a little hopeful bit in the middle about how if you spent all the time depressed no one's gonna notice you and you're loved ones etc. won't see the cuts and scars behind the mask of being just down all the time. in the end he/she is discovered. I love the way the song ends...with just "this knife" i think it could imply suicide because it doesn't say "It is my most important appendage." a very final way to end a very emotional song. hahahaha...i love this song. The guitar's great. About go karting...Alexis never fail to amaze and entertain me. It all makes sense when you know that. well...the beginning bit just about preparing for the race. Getting your helmet on. The parasites thing could be nits or something. Then you've got the race. One drives red, one drives black (duh) and the outcome of the race may depend on which car is the best (which was most recently serviced) and the rows of goodyears is what you get on a go karting track around it so you don't randomly drive off into the distance. The we don't fear these machines...well...i dunno...just about not giving a fuck while you're racing. the I've got the scoop bit's great. Just a random thing you might shout at someone in a race. "I've got the scoop man!!! And it don't look good for you!!!" haha...Alexisonfire are great |

| WOW!!! This is such a great song...Alexisonfire go from strength to strength. The instrumental's so fast paced. Definately gives the impression of a car chase. The lyrics are (at a basic first look level) about two people in a car (i think) one of them killed a guy and the other told him (or her) to do it. One's blaming the other and one's just determined to keep the motor running. Chase to the death...awesome song | |
