Sugarcult – Sign Off Lyrics 20 years ago
this song is really disturbing. the thing that gets me most about sugarcult is that tims voice changes when hes singing about something that hits a little too close to home. its kind of like when you can tell that someone smiles when they sing a certain word on a record because of the way they pronounce it and its etched in time just cause of something that was probably going on behind the scenes in the studio at that moment. this song is sung really sincerely, and its sad because either tim is really going through this dark stuff or hes a damn good actor. Suicidal thoughts, plain and simple. The take-action tour, the drug references... these band guys are hot but they are still just fucked up kids.

Panic! at the Disco – Camisado (Relax, Relapse) Lyrics 20 years ago
This is about kids crying out for attention by constantly o-ding, fighting addiction and feeding it. I think its about being put in the hospital for a 5150, which is when you are a danger to yourself and others and get thrown in a psych ward on close watch for like 2 or 3 days - "im wondering where the apathy and urgency is that i thought i called in." "You're a regular decorated emergency" - a lot of people who are this fucked up see it as a big drama and its not just the drugs but the drama that they crave. This band cracks me up.. finally a little formal education graces an otherwise vapid, albeit sexy, scene. tee hee

Panic! at the Disco – I Constantly Thank God For Esteban Lyrics 20 years ago
"Just stay where i can see you/ douse the lights" refers to the stage lights. When you are on stage (whether it is for music, theatre, or runway, whatever) you cant see shit if the spotlights are on because they shine right in your eyes. By dousing the lights the audience and the person on stage can mutually see each other. Once the lights are doused "we sure are in for a show tonight" is a sarcastic comment on what you are finally able to see when the spotlights and pretenses are turned off: the sweaty fanatical scene kids. He's more or less laughing at the audience and the state of the scene, if you will.
