i think that this songs is about two friends, but the guy has been in love with the girl for a long time. he hasn't told her so she "always belonged to someone else" because she doesn't know how he feels. and "i've had you so many times but somehow i want more" i think means that the guy hangs out with the girl a lot but he wants more time with her, and wants more to happen with her. "I don’t mind spending everyday out on your corner in the pouring rain" i think this means that the guy will do anything for the girl and "look for the girl with the broken smile, ask her if she wants to stay awhile" i think means that the guy knows the girl is unhappy and wants her to be happy in any way, so he wants anyone to spent time with her. "I know where you hide, alone in your car, know all of the things that make you who you are" and since the two are friends the guy knows all about her, even private things that no one else knows. "Comes back and begs me to catch her every time she falls" and this is when she has a problem, probabaly in a relationship, and she goes to the guy for support. not knowing that he loves her, she tells him all of the details that he doesn't want to hear because he knows he can make her happy. well that's just what i think. : ) |
