With reference to what I wrote above about humans trying to civilise nature: I think the second and third verses are about humans civilsing nature. I remember reading something about "the fox and the hound" I think it was a disney film or something....

The tyrant could be Mother Nature. The natural world is harsh and cruel and humans try to civilise it. Or the sea could represent death. I think Tuomus uses the sea like this in other songs like the term "ocean soul" and stuff. So it could mean the human speicies dying or returning to the sea in the sense that we evolved from sea creatures... this would make sense because of the reference to Darwin in the song.
