| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Way Out Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The line "Wander more, want more than we did before" is talking about how people grow older and want more and more, and are never satisfied. In this situation, it's talking about a boy who wants more and more from a girl that is a tease. It seems like she realized he just wants more from her, not so much that he really likes her, and she's saying "get over me" because he doesn't like her for the right reasons. She says in the beginning "It's all over me, it's all under me" like what the guy wants isn't actually her, it's what she's all about. He likes the way she comes off and what is holding her up (it's all under me), like her ideals. "Even on the inside, you still can't get to me," means that even if they were to get close, and she were to open up to him about her true self, he still would be much more fixated on the idea that he has what he wanted, and that she is what he wants, that even then, after he has her, he still won't like her for the right reason. That's what I think this song is about.... |

| Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Over and Over Again (Lost and Found) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about growing up and about everything starting to go wrong and when you finally have success, it's forbidding because you're not used to it, you're not used to winning. And you wake up every morning, thinking you'll have a clean shave (forget about the bad that happened the day before and start over) but it's not that easy. | |

Actually, I change my mind. It's probably him looking back on his past trying to break away. He sees himself being wrong then, but he sees himself still wrong now. ??? |

| This song seems really self-explanatory. The person in it is seeing other people trying to break away from their parents while he just takes what he has and stays with his father. He's not trying to change anything, and it's for the better. He sees that when other people are running away, they aren't really going anywhere and he learns from their mistakes.. | |
| The Decemberists – The Legionnaire's Lament Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This song has the mood of restlessness and the guy sort of feels hopeless that he's ever going to get home. I think he sort of feels homesick, but tries to think about other things and do other things to take his mind off of it like "writing his girl to tell her he would not return" or the fact that he mentions "bottle" perhaps he's drinking it off. Also, he talks a lot about sleeping and dreaming. ..but that's just what I got from knowing half the words. |

This song triggers deep ambivalent emotions for me of extreme happiness and sadness all at once. "If you don't love me let me know" is the best line I've ever heard. Sorry to ruin the whole concept of Song Meanings. I love this song. |
