I would also like to add that the part about "Mistaking nods for approval" and "ignoring the smoke" is about the person being cheated on missing the signs, or wishing they were not real, and blocking them out. Everyone know that one someone is cheating on their BF/GF, the couples friends all know, but keep hush hush.

I see a lot of people saying they think it is about someone dying or self destructing, and not to say that is wrong, but when I listen to the song I think it has to do with one person doing something wrong to another person, then having karma catch up with them. In the most common example, A girl cheats on a guy, then something bad happens to the girl (in this case I think death), and the guy she cheated on is capable of helping her, and stopping the bad thing, but chooses not to, and is pleased it is happening to her. "Such a lovely color for you" and to be even more specific the death is drowning. In that she is turning blue, so she is about to die, but could be saved, and the narrator is glad she is suffering.

I think this song is also about religion. How church folk try to push their beliefs on you. Instead of leaving you alone and let you chose what you want, they tell you how good it is, or how bad it is if you don't share the same beliefs. They also go door to door, hand out bibles at public events, etc... Of course this is a generlization, but I feel the same way :)

I don't follow Deftones much, however I do like a lot of their stuff. But I keep seeing the name Nadja, is this perhaps a reference to the Latest Bass player for Coal Chamber before they broke up, I believe her name was spelled Nadja? If I had to guess I would say it is about the end of something also.

It is funny to me how people argue over who is right about a band or performer based on things they read in the media :) As for this song, not knowing myself what the songs meaning actually is, I think it is about a person in a relationship they are not enjoying, perhaps it is abusive, and the person is doing what they need to, or only seeing the most positive things to keep themself happy. I first thought of a wife that is being abused, and every now and then the husband will do something nice.

Primus – Over The Falls Lyrics

I agree that the surface meaning is about the person(s) that took the capsule thing over the niagra falls. A handful of people have done this, all against the law, but this song may relate to the first person doing it. As for a deeper meaning, I agree it could be about someone dieing, or being killed. But I also think it could be a general statement about doing somehting everyone says you should do and it turns out to be a not very good decision. Kind of like when people want to see the result of something and egg someone on to do it, when that person really doesn't want to, but they do it to appease those they are going on about them doing it.
