alright guys. here's the thing. i think everyone is entitled to their own opinions about what a song means. there's no need to ARGUE about it or tell everyone that your interpretation is the one and only. i think that's why artists don't come right out anf say what every song means. there's so many different ways for people to relate to the same song, and that's the beauty of it. what mae meant with the lyrics of their songs might be a bit different than what some people get out of it. and that's okay. music is different for everyone and there doesn't have to be one single meaning to a song that everyone has to believe. the point of this site is for people to express what they get from the song...and sometimes that sparks something in someone else. don't judge people if what they get out of a song is different from what you feel. :) but i do think we all agree that mae is just wonderful. everything about their music is beautiful... their lyrics have the ability to reach the very core of my soul--it's genious. |

was that in response to my post or was it just a general question...? if it was to mine, i would just say that when it's hard for us to move on, because being together a olt of times IS heaven. we're completely in love...but just have so much to work on. if it was a general statement, i would just say that maybe after everything they'd been through, as much as he loves her, breaking up is heaven because he's finally free...no more stress and whatever. he seems very positive about the situation, and he knows it's the right thing. |

i think there are so many ways people can relate to this song, and even though it was written for a specific purpose with its own meaning, anyone who listens to it can make their own meaning out of it...and that's ok. for me, this song fits perfectly with my feelings about my ex-boyfriend of 14 months. we knew we loved each other and we still do...but that doesn't mean we are right for each other. and so now we're waiting for our real stars...but we love each other and want to be together and still spend so much time together, even now, 7 months after breaking up. and we don't know when it's all going to finally end. it didn't end with the break-up, but i know it's going to have to end if we're not going to be together. "the time we had now ends. when?" honestly i'll admit that i'm still trying to find the courage to let go. and i can still feel the butterflies when i'm with him...and i can still remember our "last goodbye" as a couple...and i know that i always will, no matter what happens. i really thought he was my star, and it still kills me to hear songs like this and "konstantine." |
