I've actually thoguth a lot abou this song. It's basically about a lot in feminism. How a female isn;t allowed to think as freely as men are and how there words aren't taken as seriously. "I can see yr disco disco dik is sucking my heart out of my mind"- men are draining her real thought about the way the world it should be between men and women "Wanna disco? Wanna see me disco? Let me hear you depoliticize my rhyme"- how everything she has said about the way it should be is taken as "cute" and "not serious" becasue she's a girl "yr so policy free and yr fantasy wheels and everything you think and everything you feel is alright"- everything a man thinks or feels is cool. they can do what they want. and they're always viewed as cool for thinking thst way. while if a women thinks "policy-free" it's offensive and uncouth. "You want what you want but you don't wanna be on yr knees Who does your... who does your hair?"- he wants to be in control and all she can rightly say is something meaningless. he can say what he really wants though. "Who took the Bomp from the Bompalompalomp?"-this is just more about how women have to say pre-set things. "Yr cool and I hardly wanna say "not" because I'm so bored"- a guy's band is always cool, whatever they do. you can;t argue against it, as a female. |
