I think the idea of this song is easy. The first verse is about the wife and how lonely she is b/c her husband is never around and doesn't make her feel loved so she tries to get that feeling again with other men. The second verse is about the man and how he knows whats going on but just tried to bottle it up and he can't handle it. The last two lines of that verse i think are about the other people at his job that he is still going to and everyone else is like zombies and he has all of this running through his head all the time. The last verse I believe is just about how he thinks that he was doing what he needed for he by providing but in reality what she really needed was for him to be there and show her he loves her. But all the stress from work and everything makes him use drugs or drink or whatever to relieve the stress and she chooses then to fight with him about what she needs. The chorus I think starts with the wife saying thats shes not the devil that she just needs to feel loved its not about hurting him. Then its him saying he isn't ignoring her or her needs on purpose but b/c he thinks he needs to work as much and hard as he can to provide. Well thats my take for the most part. |
