The end sounds a little like a part in the "I am the Walrus" (not the end part). Listen. Anyone else agree? |

This is "Piggies" with different lyrics and tweaked a little bit. Maybe I'm hearing things, but I think he went into George's song. It reminds me of when George got sued for plagiarism when the tune was subconciously in his mind from an earlier famous song "He's so fine". To be honest, I don't know if it should have been counted as plagiarism, but his defense of subconcious (sp.) influence seems to have affected Paul McCartney. Just kidding, I just think they sound alike, that's all.. |

This is kind of irrelevant, but listen to the 'on' in "Were meant to lead me on"- it sounds like Billy Joel. The tune sounds like it is from one of Billy Joel's songs- Leningrad. Not taking anything away from this song because it's one of my favorites. Just seeing if anyone else sees the resemblance.

Sounds like it was inspired by a late John Lennon song, like something he wrote while he was refinding himself. No insult, this is a good song, but it sounds like one of John Lennon's so-so tracks. But you know, actually, that's a compliment. |

It may be written for his grandfather, but appropriately adjusted for a long-distance relationship. It is evident by him referring to the person he is writing to as "baby"- not something you'd call your grandfather- at least I hope not. Anyway, this is a dumb, obvious comment by me, but just saying to all of you who say this also could be for long-distance relationships that the intent of the song was for that. The reason he was feeling homesick and the reason he decided to write the song, however, was because of his grandfather.
I have only been gone from my girlfriend for three weeks, I'm in school not the army, and I'm going back home in four days, but this song still grabs at me as if I were gone for a long time because I miss my girl so much. This song also pulls me because in a year I may be leaving for a year or two and that's when this song will really kill me. |

This song is a beatiful song but it doesn't mean anything personal to me. But it does remind me of Princess Diana because some of the lyrics to me work for car accident and papparazzi. This may be a stretch. so let me explain:
"you are pulled from the wreckage"- obviously could be a car crash
"everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back"- paparazzi always going at her
"it don't make no difference
escaping one last time"- that ezceping the paparrazzi didn't mean anything, she would be haunted no matter what- kind of makes the attempt at escaping in vain
"arms of the angel"- going to heaven to find some comfotrt there
I always felt she lived some pained life and this song portrays pain, waiting for nothing, insecurity, lacking, and getting away. I'm from America so I don't know her well, but when I saw the news on the tv, this song was playing on my computer. It worked perfectly with the video, better than the lyrics look. |

There are three reasons the second song is added to this song. First, it was the last track in the album, so if you're going to add a song, it would be to this one. Second, they wanted it to be a "hidden" song, one that people wouldn't hear if they just skipped it. Third, you can look at the meaning of the first song. This added song is a new beginning, a new song literally, but a new start figuratively. The first song is so negative, so sad, but the second is upbeat. However, both of them are bitter. The first one, is trying to get over it, the second, he is bitterly over it and thus lonely and drunk (maybe?). Anyway, I wouldn't say it was good or bad to be attached to this song, but just saying that there are reasons it's added and if you want to find meaning to the juxtaposition you can. I don't know if it's stretched, but that could be one of the meanings of them being together. I'm sure Rob had a reason to attach it and to keep the integrity of the artist's intention, I try to find a reason, rather than skip it or criticize it. As you can see on this site, everybody has a sometimes-the-same-sometimes-different meaning than other posters and that probably signifies than likelihood of ours being diferent than the artists. There's a reason that it's there, whether because its the last track or a deeper meaning linked to the first. |

I'm not going to analyze it too much- as the original intent may have been to not mean anything or maybe it means something, who knows? But, if it did- "Don’t you think the joker laughs at you?"- Isn't a jokers' job to make you laugh? And saying that he laughs at you would be saying how pathetic you are or how much dignity the joker has (by not taking it too seriously and getting his own personal satisfaction). He laughing that you can be entertained by such childish actions and so easily at non-intellectual gestures. If the writer's job is to write something for you to interpret, maybe the writer is interpretting you or laughing at you for doing it. I don't know, but it's a reversal of roles nonetheless. At the very least, the person you're laughing at is laughing at you- but if it means more (if anything at all)- then what? |

I know this is not right, but cosidering its about abortion... it sounds like he says "I dont want it anymore" instead of "I don't want you anywmore"- but I know that's not right. Selective hearing, I guess. |

My favorite Mandy cover. She sings this among her best. I like Crush, Cry, and I Wanna Be With You. But this tops them all. Her voice is so beautiful in this song and the message is very sweet. I have always wished I had a girl that could promise me this and make me feel that she was there for me like that. Of course, this wasn't written by her, since it's a cover, but if it's coming from your girlfriend, no guy could be any luckier. |

Doesn't anybody think on whether Bono wanted to sing this way? His scratchy voice is perfect for the song. It wouldn't sound weird, but it wouldn't sound as good if he sung it "well". I'm not saying that VH1 is right necessarily but they listed Bono as the 4th or 5th best singer. I don't know if that was out of pop, rock, or something, but out of all famous popular music he was that high. Just goes to show everyone has thier own opinion. I'd think if Bono didn't like his voice scratchy on this track, he'd have changed it. |
