| James Blake – Measurements Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| very much like bon iver's "woods," but still amazing. the vernon-blake collab was such a match made in heaven. composition geniuses. | |
| My Morning Jacket – Dondante Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I'm curious to hear people's take on the title. I've searched the Internet but haven't found a whole lot about it. I know Jim's friend wasn't named Dondante, but maybe it was a nickname? Maybe something in another language? | |
| Fleet Foxes – Blue Ridge Mountains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i have never known perfection before this song. brought me to tears. | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Scientist Studies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i love how this song is nearly ten years old and we, the loyal, dreaming fans (perpetually put in awe by this magical band) are still trying to decipher it. amazing. what i don't love is who knows the last time they even played it live. songs like "the ice is getting thinner" and "your new twin sized bed" are simply no basis for comparison to the majesty of the entire we have the facts... album. |

| you're welcome, world. | |
| Asher Roth – I Love College Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| the only thing that can help me is when awful, soulless noise like this is eradicated from the planet. | |
| Asher Roth – I Love College Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i'm just not sure if there's a song ever in the history of sound that i hate more. and i say "sound" because this is not music. i'm sure the majority of you fucking numbskulls who are calling this a "good song" don't even know what song he sampled in the background to rap over. music like this seriously makes me want to commit suicide and leave this planet and all its horrible miseries. sometimes i think i might. mainstream music is made specifically for all you fucking morons who have no soul or good taste. all you do is drive around in your tricked out cars with subwoofers that somehow must make the bass sound as loud as a fucking elephant dying. i hate all of you so very, very much. |

|
| Death Cab for Cutie – Transatlanticism Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song makes me want to scream "I need you so much closer" from high, unsurmountable places. | |
| Barenaked Ladies – A Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is also in the key of A, just a little sidenote. | |
| Incubus – Diamonds and Coal Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i think this and "oil and water" are two different viewpoints on the same relationship and its problems. "oil and water" is pretty self-explanatory, saying that it's just not gonna work out no matter what is said or done. "diamonds and coal" is the other side of that argument, saying that all relationships need work and that nothing is perfect. you need to work on the relationship if you want it to last. |

|
| Tesla – Signs Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| The Cells – Silver Cloud Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| His Dudeness approves of this song. | |

| Starsailor – Good Souls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
great mellow song. regarding starsailor's sound, some have labeled them "warmplay", obviously insinuating their sound is similar to coldplay. i don't know if i agree with that 100%, but i can see a resemblance. both bands are superb. |
|
| Incubus – Deep Inside Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|

|
| Dave Matthews Band – Gravedigger Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dave's father died when he was 10 years old, so that would be around 1977. I believe his sister Annie died in 1993. Under the Table & Dreaming is dedicated to her. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Bartender Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this song has always puzzled me up until today. I finally think I have the meaning. Dave is saying that if he dies soon or before his time, that all of his followers not forget or regret him. "Brother of mine" and "sister of mine" mean his fans and followers, much like St. Paul addressed Jesus' followers in his letters. He is asking the bartender (God) to give him eternal life in Heaven, hence the wine that made Jesus return from the dead. Dave goes on to ask his mother and his close ones to redirect and set him on the right path if his fame ever goes to his head. The wine that's drinking him is greed. This is what caused Judas to betray Jesus. |
