"I can understand that they get pissed when someone like Quiff comments on every song and tries to twist their words" That's what I'm focusing on in this comment. This is a website devoted to discussion about opinions on songs/lyrics/bands. This is EXACTLY what Quiffporn is doing by saying he dislikes HIM for the various reasons he does. Yet people think that, just because he's doing this in a negative way, and stereotyping the fanbase and overall just being insulting, that he is therefore not allowed to post here. Yet he's doing essentially the same exact fucking thing they're doing, by posting "omg him is so awesome ville is hot i love this song". If they want to be mad, fine. That's, as you said, understandable. However their reactions to Quiff are in no way better than what he's doing to start. If anything, they're worse. I'll also say that anyone who judges someone's intelligence based off of grammar is an idiot themselves. Quiff might not type correctly but that doesn't mean he's any less intelligent. |

You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. I don't hate Quiff so I must BE Quiff! Because a guy like that is definitely the kind of person that would create multiple accounts to stroke his own ego and improve his image on people he hates. Grow a brain stem, for God's sake. |

And I'm going to say this again, because apparently nobody's getting the fucking point. If you have a right to be here, so does Quiffporn. That simple. Now stop saying he's pathetic, idiotic, retarded, etc. for posting how much he hates HIM in this section, because he's the only person that's actually making sense in here. This is an area to post comments on the band, which he's doing. |

Heh. I completely forgot about this site.. I wonder if Quiff still comes here. I noticed he posted about two months ago.. I think he'd be somewhat pleased to see that I've completely given up on HIM and moved on to REAL music. |

OnlyAMyth, please. As you said, Quiffporn's been at it for 2 years. What makes you think you're going to shut him up? I'm glad he's here. Insulting or not, he's one of the smartest posting here. Most people here are Bam Margera fanboys that have old Element skateboards in their garages, Adios on their feet, cKy posters in their room and HIM albums they don't listen to. They feel compelled to post here because they think if they do, Bam Margera is going to notice them and put them on his next stupid show. |

| HIM – The Path Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This Fortress of Tears used to be my favorite song until I really started concentrating on the meaning of this song. HIM is usually about the darker side of love, singing songs about love whilst metaphorically using fire, death, and hate. This song is different, it actually has an optomistic feel to it. The song itself is about an unending path that Ville must take, now that he has entered solitude. Though as he "walks through the gardens of dying light" he begins to encounter a light, that kills the shadows of his past. That light is his true love, which is leading him through The Path. Nobody really picks up on this, but as you listen to the song, it starts out sad, slow, and dramatic, and as it goes further the lyrics pick up speed, the vocals become higher, and the guitars become louder. The song itself becomes much more optomistic as he finds his love.. then it all ends with the most beautiful guitar solo imaginable. Only a genius like Ville Valo can use so many metapohors and make such an emotional song with so much power and fury in it. It's beyond words.. |

The "greatest moment in HIM history" was the 1 and a half minute long guitar solo at the end of The Path. kthx. |
|
| HIM – Salt in Our Wounds (Thulsa Doom version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's basically taking the original song and stretching it out to slow, darker lyrics while a very low, edgy bass plays in the background It's alright, but I usually skip it to listen to another one of my 87 HIM songs.. |

Overrated, mainstream band + overplayed song = horrible music This is a band of untalented morons who play synthesized beats, who have catchy tunes that draw in young girls. That is, right before they switch to Green Day and those other fucking emo bands. Then they listen to rap, then they grow up. Get some different music tastes, this is horrible music. |

"HEY RETARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY THE HELL DO YOU TALK SHIT WHEN THIS IS WHERE YOU GO IF YOU LIKE THE LYRICS!!?!?!?!?! go jack off some more" I honestly hope that was a joke. If it wasn't: PEBKAC kthx lolz n00b This is the place to discuss the lyrics, nobody said you have to like them, for the hundredth or so time. |

Retards. That's all you are. Retards. I'm sick of this. 1. Quiffporn. He's a genius. He may not have my views on HIM, and he may say hateful things. But he's a hell of a lot smarter than you idiots. 2. Selrach. I doubt you're reading this, but if you are, quit saying that Ville's lyrics are shallow, and coming off as a 12 year old being dumped. If you were writing better lyrics as a 14 year old, I encourage you to take up a band. I'd listen to it, especially if you can write better than Ville. He's metaphorical. VERY metaphorical. But so many skater faggots who like the band because of Bam take it in as a Satanic band because that's their imagery, but the songs are about so much more.. they don't bother to find the metaphorical references in them. 4 all of u n3rdz typn liek dis, go kill yourself. Now. You have no use to society. |

aznpride. Go to hell. Please. Quiff is much, much smarter than all of you idiots posting here saying "lol bam and ville r SOOOOOOO HAwTT!!1 i luv their music". In fact, anyone here who likes Bam, go join aznpride in hell. This is a comment page. Quiffporn has a LOT of comments on the band, whether they're against them or not. There's nothing saying he can't post what he thinks. There's nothing saying you have to read what he posts, either. (Just for the record, HIM's my favorite band, but I can at least respect Quiff for who he is) |

I worded what I said oddly. I meant to say that IF Quiffporn was a figment of our imagination, which he isn't, he'd most likely be caused by a drug. I'm not one for drugs. Not that we can get any, since we live in a town of 3,000 with cornfields surrounding us. |
|

If quiffporn is an induced imagination, it's not from sugar. I'd say cocaine.. or PCP. "Do you have to insult 14 year olds? I think this is crap too, and I'm 14." If that was directed to me, I happen to be 14 too. |

I hate power outages. I had a huge reply to this, and it's lost. Damned nature.. alright well, I'll sum up what I was typing. First of. Bam Margera. As far as I can tell, he is the main reason why they have such a bad demographic. Of course he isn't the ONLY reason, but.. think about it. HIM is a Finnish band, hardly does any performances in the States.. only one album was released in the US (the rest were imports from Finland). Yet.. they have a larger fan basis here in the US than in the UK. Why? Because Bam Margera is very, very widely known by 12 year old girls who think he's "hott". Usually, those are the preps who are getting horomonal and questioning their life, and slowly becoming more and more emo. So they watch Viva la Bam, see that he thinks HIM is "the perfect rock band (quote)" and they decide to download their music. Then they fall in love with it because one, Bam likes it. And two, as you said, they think "Ville understands me". It's mostly his fault. Eh.. alright what else. Oh, right. I had to comment on some of your stuff.. "Exiled, I swear dude, I could kiss you" Thanks, but unlike 90% of HIM's fan basis, I'm not gay. (Not to say you are. I read your post about how hot you think militaristic feminist lesbians are.) I have to disagree with your saying that Ville isn't a literary genius. Just because he uses deep metaphors in his songwriting instead of outright saying what he means doesn't make him an inferior songwriter. There were a few other comments but I keep losing connection at the moment and I'm not risking losing this either. They were pretty pointless anyways.. eh. I can see where you're coming from though. I'll admit, HIM on the outside looks like another conformistical (if that's not a word, it should be) band that is trying to make a quick buck on america's most demanding music group. Truth be told, they don't really have much to do with America.. so I doubt this is true. Another two cents to the pile. |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I have one thing to say about this. If this doesn't prove that nobody can get their own music tastes anymore, then nothing will. 1,684 posts, including mine. This is out of control. All of you emo/goth wannabe retards that listen to this crap, go kill yourself. Quit dragging out the process by cutting your wrists and just stick the knife in your stomach. This song is horrible. That's all there is to it. I watched the video, and.. I was dumbstruck. I just sat on my couch for 15 minutes afterwards, staring at the screen stunned. Two things are wrong with society. 1. That lead singer, Billy Fucktard or whatever his name is, isn't hot. He's an adult, and he's emo. That's just something you laugh at. Not something you get attracted to. 2. EVERYONE seems to love this band. Why? Why? WHY?!? This is ridiculous, the band has no talent whatsoever. They would be okay, if they got a different singer, guitarist, drummer, bassist, and songwriter. Want to know who the American Idiots are? The retarded preps who can't say a sentence without using the word "like" at least for times, and listen to this shit they call music. |

The "Too Happy To Be Alive" repeated in the Chorus is Ville singing.. Good song. I love the lyrics, and there's hardly anything but keyboards in this song.. |
|
| HIM – Beautiful (Third Seal) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I don't know how saying "Villes the sexiest man alive" has to do with the song meaning.. It's blindingly obvious what this is. It's a typical love song.. saying the girl is his only reason to live, and how beautiful she is. |
|
| HIM – Buried Alive By Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Bam Margera's the reason HIM has such a crappy demographic. He whored them out on Viva la Bam so much, it's beyond obsessive. | |
| Apocalyptica – Bittersweet Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Lauri is a guy... -__- The song's good but Lauri drowns out Ville's voice. And though this song isn't HIM's song, it featured Ville. So technically, it fits well here. |

| HIM – Stigmata Diaboli Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I don't see how this can be anyone's favorite song. It's good, better than Sigilum Diaboli, but.. it's not even close to their other pieces. This song is not a different version of Sigilum Diaboli. This was on the EP 666 Ways To Love. oldschoolpunker26, we can't buy the CD. It costs.. 600-1,000 dollars on EBay. If you're lucky. |

Oh, a few more things I forgot. Stop calling Quiffporn a dumbass, stupid, an idiot, or whatever you wish to call him to degrade his intelligence. He's a hell of a lot smarter than you idiots that are posting "OMG ur so stoopid sayin HIM sux dey rule!!1". Like the guy or not, it's not often someone keeps a debate going for two years. Quiff I'm going to expand on what I asked before. What exactly have you heard by HIM? |
|
| HIM – Buried Alive By Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I must be the only one here that noticed the part of the lyrics are incorrect.. hm. HIM's been my favorite band for years, but I'm agreeing with some of quiffporn's earlier comments. They have been portrayed as a band for goth/emo wannabe girls who would do anything to suck Ville's dick. But there's one reason for that.. and only one reason for that. Bam Margera. Bam has such a large fan basis of niave 12 year old middle school girls. And of course, if he listens to HIM.. they'll listen to HIM. Quiffporn, you're forgetting that there are normal people that listen to HIM.. you're only focusing on the majority demographic. I don't know if I'd qualify as normal, but I'm not a goth or emo fucktard with no outlook on reality. I'm a guy, 15 years old, and I hate Bam Margera, but HIM's still my favorite band due to the fact that Valo is the best vocalist I've ever heard. I'll admit. Ville goes overboard with the lyrics.. but that's just the image they set for themselve. They can't change it now, even if they wanted to.. and it's a smart decision, to be making music like this at the rise of the emo, depressed retards in High School. It's just aiming to please the majority market.. Oh, and by the way. All of you saying that, since Quiff doesn't like the band, he should just go away.. you're idiots. This is basically a forum in which you can share your comments, and obviously, Quiff has his share of them. There's nothing against that. Now, if YOU don't like reading what Quiff has to say, then don't come here. There's my two cents. |

| HIM – This Fortress Of Tears Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"i think..its about a guy drowning his girlfriend to take away all the pain that she suffers.. hince the "Just hold your breath on your way down"" Haha. Okay, I didn't listen to this song 730 times thus far to have it mistranslated. xx-mel-xx covered most of it. The Fortress of Tears is metaphorical for Ville protecting his love from everything in this world. Ville experienced the hatred and cruelty of the world, thus "This fortress of tears I've built from my fears, for you". He experienced it all and is shielding his love away from everything, so they can be together in pure bliss. This Fortress of Tears is the best song by HIM. End of discussion. |

| HIM – It's All Tears (Drown in This Love) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
wtf? This song isn't about Satan. It's not about staying away from relationships. razorbladegirl got it. It's a song saying how he's willing to bear the pain of love, beacuse it's all worth being with the one he loves. All of you saying that it's a satanic song telling you to stay away from relationships are idiots. This is a good song, but not even close to being their best. The live recording in the '00 Berlin concert is much better. But, either way, This Fortress of Tears > All other him songs. |

| HIM – Join Me In Death Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This has turned into a freaking conversation. Enough with it. HIM isn't Satanic. The people that call HIM satanic go to church three times a week and have sex with the lights off. The music is good. Like it or not, every member has unbelievable talent, and you can't deny that. This song isn't, and I'm quoting a user that posted here earlier, "We love eachother, life sucks, let's kill eachother". It's both referencing towards Romeo and Juliet, and (mostly) saying how the lovers want to spend the rest of their lives with eachother. People don't think that "join me in death" means more than killing yourself and I'm very close to exploding for it. Join me in death means you spend the rest of your life with eachother. "Till death do you part". Does nobody see a connection?.. Also, I'm tired of people defending this with "Well, doesn't "Won't you die tonight for love" mean you want to kill yourself?" NO! It's asking how far you'll go to show you're loyal to the relationship. All you goth/emo 11 year old posers who love this band because Bam likes them, grow up. This is a great band, and it's being stereotyped with too many groups. There's two more cents for the pile. |

| HIM – Join Me In Death Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
You're all pissing me off. I'm clearing up EVERYTHING commented here. "HIM is satanic" No, they aren't. Their music isn't even gothic rock. HIM classifies it as "Love Metal" which is a combination of highly emotional love songs, and rock. If you'd take the time to look through things, you'd see Ville Valo is not satanic. He has said this on very, very many occasions, which are referenced on many websites. "HIM is just gothic, 666, I want to kill myself garbage" I'm not even going to comment on this. Whoever says this doesn't know HIM. Lastly, I'm going to post the ACTUAL meaning of Join Me. We are so young our lives have just begun but already we're considering escape from this world Translation: We are young, and niave, not knowing truly what love is or if we are in love, but we're still willing to give everything for eachother. and we've waited for so long for this moment to come we're so anxious to be together together in death Translation: We do know what love is, now, and we want to be together, forever in eternity. This is NOT saying that we want to kill ourselves, you idiots. It's saying they want to be together for the rest of their lives. Hence, "together in death" means they wish to be together 'till death do them part. Won't you die tonight for love Baby join me in death Translation: This is a metaphore. This is basically saying "Won't you give everything for our love?" This world is a cruel place and we're here only to lose so before live tears us apart let death bless me with you Translation: If you really look at this lyric, you'll see it isn't about suicide. It's saying that our lives are lived out only for despair. But, death has granted us a second chance, and before life has reached the peak of despair, I found you. This life ain't worth living Translation: Our lives are not worth living unless we are together. This entire song, as far as I can see, the two lovers in it have not actually gotten together. One is just singing about their love for eachother, but they aren't together, which explains the last lyric. Thus, this is merely a song saying they want to be together UNTIL death, not together, then kill themselves. |
