Megadeth – Die Dead Enough Lyrics 19 years ago
So what if metallica did start thrash, was Mustaine not with them... and just a question, but who thinks metallica would have made the EXACT same music, without the influence of dave mustaine (i.e if he never was in the group)?

Neil Young – Sleeps With Angels Lyrics 20 years ago
Kurt quoted Neil in his suicide note "It's better to burn out than fade away"... this affected Neil, who has even noted Kurt as one of HIS influences, even though Neil was making music since before kurt was born... Anyways he felt bad that kurt took his lyrics so deeply and decided to write a song about him, and a sort of a tribute album

Neil Young – The Needle And The Damage Done Lyrics 20 years ago
I find this song to be pretty self explanatory, if you cant figure it out, then maybe try heroin and im sure you'll figure it out (sarcastic joke!!) A song coming from a man who has seen alot of talent, senselessly destroyed

Tool – Merkaba Lyrics 20 years ago
Ya It's obvious that a few of you guys on the last page don't even know a thing about MJK or the rest of the band. You seem to be calling anyone believing in all that spiritual stuff, to be a moron. Well your calling the whole band of tool dumb then because it is clearly obvious (to anyone openminded enough to realize it) what theyre songs about. With names like Merkaba and Third Eye... Many closeminded people would just assume these songs are about drugs, but Maynard is not a huge stoner, but many hallucinogens are closely related to all these beliefs. Maybe its because the Third Eye (pineal gland) produces a drug called DMT, which is known (SCIENTIFICALLY) to be one of the most powerful hallucinogens, possibly stronger than LSD. So i guess the point of this song, and many others is that you DONT need drugs for the psychedelic/spiritual experiences, you can experience states of altered consciousness through concentration, meditation, and the likes... well anyways my postings getting longer than the song is, so i better wrap it up, i just thinks its dumb when people are dismissing these beliefs, but claim to be a fan of MJK and his work... doesnt make sense ..

Tool – Third Eye Lyrics 20 years ago
Well I'm not sure how It all ties in, and perrott did touch on the subject... Located in the exact center of your brain is the pineal gland (im not sure how but some believe it is tied in with the location of the great pyramid at he center of the physical world), Anyways the pineal gland is believed to be sensitive to light, and bears a remarkable resemblance to our other two eyes, in fact in a few reptiles, this eye has developed to a fully functional third eye. This has earned it the nickname the "third eye" The pineal gland's exact use has not yet been accurately discovered, but it is a fact that when stimulated it produces the drug, dimethyltryptamine (DMT). Which has been used by many ancient cultures and civilizations throughout central american, as a very powerful hallucinogen. some consider the trips more intense then acid. Scientists have not yet proven if it is true, but it is believed this gland, and the drug DMT, play a role in everything from dreams, to out of body experiences, to alien encounters. When people meditate, and experience visions, it is likely they have found a way to stimulate the pineal gland, and produce DMT, therefore prying open their "third eye" .. so i guess the point of all this is, like someone said before, Maynard is not a hardcore "stoner" so perhaps what he is referring to is the stimulation of our "third eye", since he does seem to be quite a fan of sacred geometry, states of altered consciousnesses, and such..... who knows, just a thought... probably way off knowing the way he thinks lol..
And sorry if none of that made sense its my first post
