| Sting – The Book Of My Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| These are the lyrics to This War. | |
| Sting – Walking On The Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Sting eludes to the meaning of this song in his Biography. Walkin' on the moon is a reference to that giddy feeling you get when you are in love. | |
| Sting – I Hung My Head Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| One of my favorite 'story' songs of Mr. Sumner's collection of works. A tragic song about someone accidently killing another human being and being resolved to the consequences. The chorus, "I hung my head" takes on new meaning at the end of the song. | |
| Sting – Fill Her Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I'm a little surprised that no one has taken a crack at this one. Typical story of a man that chooses wrong -- with this one ending in a choral response from the heavens... telling him to 'fill' his life up with good things and not material things... |

| Sting – Stolen Car (Take Me Dancing) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is about 3 ladies that are wronged. One lady, a car, is stolen. The story of the other two ladies is sensed/imagined by the thief as he drives the stolen car. One woman is wronged by her husband because he decieves her with a mistress. The mistress is wronged by the man because of his empty promises to her about offering more to her than the stolen moments of intimacy. The real criminal in this song is the man between a wife and a mistress. The car thief is merely the teller of the tale. The stealing of the car is merely a side-not in the story. | |

I'm sorry if I am rehashing other comments.. I skipped to my own. I have two children.... one from a previous relationship that I have custody of... and I cringe at the thought of my son spending time with his mom and her new husband.... this song hits home in a big way... My love for my children is a very deep-seated love that cannot be broken and this song really illustrates that with "You know that I'll protect you From all of the obscene I wonder what your doing Imagine where you are" I think that particular section refers to thinking of children that you have had that do NOT live with you and instead live with a former significant other. The hurt that a man feels when his kids are with their mother and ANOTHER man is very apparent here. |

My apologies for the misspelling in the previous post. A corrected version follows: Imagine standing in a huge stadium looking towards a 4 sided stage. The lights go down... and you hear this song begin. Joe starts yelling, "I said-a welcome to my shoooooow"... the crowd goes nuts. This is how they used to open their concerts back when Steve Clark was still alive. It really got the crowd going. |

Next time you listen to this song: Imagine standing in a huge stadium looking towards a 4 sided stage. The lights go down... and you hear this song begin. Joe starts yelling, "I said-a welcome to my shoooooow"... the crown goes nuts. This is how they used to open their concerts back when Steve Clark was still alive. It really got the crowd going. |

Now for a serious comment: This song is clearly about masturbation to various 'fantasy inducing' thoughts and media. I very risque' song for the time it came out. I was in high school when these guys made Hysteria and I must say that they were my favorite band at the time. In concert, Joe really got the crowd going on this one... on all four sides. |

A funny thing... In German, "I'm hot, sticky sweet, from my head to my feet" almost rymes. Ich bin heiss, klieblig, suss, von mein kopf, bis mein fuss! |
