| The Rocket Summer – Do You Feel Lyrics

My favorite part of the song is the first "Have the habits had you?" and how he sings YOU.
Anyway, I think he feels like he is the only one that really is imapcted by what's happening in the world. People talk more about their own problems than what's going on outside of themselves, and he's wondering how they can just ignore all of that. |

| The Rocket Summer – A Song Is Not A Business Plan Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
"This is me, saying words I actually mean
I won't compromise this thing just to make it"
"I'll never do the things they do just to make it"
He's telling everyone, especially his fans, that he isn't selling out like many other artists. Money is not his reason for singing, and he won't let it control what he does with his music. |

"anyone see the allusion to Matthew 14:29-30"
Yeah, I just looked up the Bible verse and now I definitely agree this was in reference to Jesus. I was reluctant to believe so at first (I am not religious) but it makes sense and definitely gives it a whole new meaning.
And I agree that Bryce's sound has changed a lot. I'm comparing this album to songs on his other albums, and these seem somewhat darker and less happy, but with the same kind of hope that filled his earlier lyrics. |

haha thanks for these lyrics, i was never able to decipher the chorus. i can't figure out too much about what the song is about, but it's a combination of dreaming and loving. :) |

i always hear "i'm the only man" instead of "i'm the only mirror". i don't know though.
i love this song so much.
i always thought it was about jakob and his girlfriend? i don't know, it could apply to both of them. the first verse could just be him thinking back to one of his experiences and realizing that he wants the relationship to be serious. (settle down and call this safety) |

| Dashboard Confessional – Carve Your Heart Out Yourself Lyrics

Man it takes a silly girl to lie about the dreams she has
Lord it takes a lonely one to wish that she had never dreamt at all
i love these lines, along with
I'll be sure your secret's safe with me
one of my favorite dashboard songs ever. |

i also love how in this song, he's not doing any voice tricks or anything and it's all focused almost purely on the lyrics. it's like he's talking with background music and lots of feeling. |

i think this song is about him falling in love. like how at first she obviously likes him a lot more than he likes her, but then the flood starts rising up and he's being overwhelmed. when the planets tell him to slow down it's like something inside of him is saying that something's wrong that he's going too fast, but his heart wants to keep going. and when the water reached the west coast and destroyed everything, it's like when his love just reached a high. i dont know exactly how to put it but that's the gist of it i guess. |

hmm i was thinking more along the lines of what was going on after 9/11. at least in nyc, there were lots of scares about poisoning tap water and chemical attacks on nyc and everyone started stocking up on canned food and filtered water in their basements. and then the whole thing about how there was harmful stuff in the air after the twin towers fell. "empty streets" as opposed to crowded ones before 9/11. i dont know it doesnt really fit as well as some of the other things posted up but for me this is what it relates to. |

Konstantine is one of those songs that gets better and better every time you listen to it. It's like a book, the more you read it the more meaning you find in it. I can't really find words to describe it. It's just...wow. |

I think that what this song means is that a guy is returning to wherever his girl is, but he's trying to figure out whether or not he should break up with her or not because he doesn't know if he loves her. That's why he's bruised, he's beating himself up over this. |

Pretty obvious what this song means. Just that he's gonna change how he looks and he doesn't give a crap about what anyone else thinks. Go bratty rebellion. :D |

I love this song. But as far as the meaning of the lyrics goes, to me it's about just spending time with your best friends, getting drunk or whatever and just living in the moment. |

Haha it's not a band anymore, I think, now it's just one person. Not sure though.
I love the Rocket Summer though. I'm listening to this song right now.
I guess this song is basically talking about how he thought maybe a friend? was a bad friend. Until he realizes, hey. This guy is a guy to be admired. Or something. I don't know. Although geekpoo's idea makes sense too. |
