| Toni Braxton – How Could An Angel Break My Heart Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I love the version with Babyface singing in the background of the verse: I heard her face was white as clay Soft as a rose that blooms in May He keeps her picture in a frame And when he sleeps he calls her name It shows the two sides to the relationship and that maybe if the situation were different or if these two could talk, they'd still see that they still love each other even if they have to work to pick up the broken pieces. This song makes me so sad. I can relate so much it hurts to listen sometimes. |

this song talks about being far away from the person you love. i can relate to so many things in this song. this year i moved to college 400 miles away from home. this song seems to echo how i feel. “Memory that needs to be repressed I'll just wait until it's over” Sometimes it seems like it’d be easier to just forget the relationship never happened. “Cause I like cars more than telephones Your voice in my ear makes me feel so alone” Even if you try to keep in touch, it’s just not the same. Sometimes it’s just a reminder of the distance between you. A voice cannot replace being right next to that person. He’d drive the long distance just to be with her. “I walked to get the mail today I guess your letter never came, I'll just check again tomorrow” Maybe he’s finding out it’s not working out like she said. This part is simple but it speaks of the simple things you do, wondering if the other person is thinking about you too. Heartbreaking. “And yes you're in my head/But that doesn't make you here And I've lost all my friends/But you're the one I miss the most” Expresses just how much he misses this person. Man I love this song. |
