| The White Stripes – In the Cold, Cold Night Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Ahhh, I love this song! Meg's voice is perfect for it, just PERFECT! I think the song is about loving a man who other people don't approve of (I don't care what other people say/I'm goin' to love you anyway), and who doesn't yet admit to himself what he feels for her (I can't stand it any longer/I need fuel to make my fire bright/So don't fight it any longer...), but still comes to her in 'the cold cold night' But I might be talking DRIVEL! |

| I have a friend, but her name isn't Kate. But this song is about her. She really is a RAINBOW to behold. | |

I think it's a holiday fling gone awry, which is why they chose Limassol. Cyprus is famous for being a slightly cheasy holiday destination. Think package holiday. Great fun though... Ok, I'm digressing. Is it just me that loves the intro??? Oh, and to quote thr user above...... LIMASSOOOOOOOOOOOOL! |

The lyrics aren't amazing, they're ok, but let's face it, it's not Bob Dylan. It's the music and the way Alex Turner sings it that makes it such a fantastic track. It should be banned to sing this song without a Sheffield accent. I think that the way they play the instruments has a kind of monkey-ish quality about it.... but that might just be me. |

| Antony and the Johnsons – Hope There's Someone Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This song got to me from the very first line. I'm not exaggerating, but I was in tears. It expresses both the need to be loved and fear of death perfectly. I don't think that just reading the lyrics does this song justice, hearing his voice however.... wow. I especially love the part where it sounds like just a cry out loud. That part captures the entire song flawlessly. But this is just my opinion, so nobody kill me. |

| The Decemberists – Sixteen Military Wives Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is just my interpretation of the song (so nobody shoot me), but I think that the use of the phrase "Pristine Moderate Liberal Minds" could refer to the way that most celebrities don't have concrete politcal views, most say something vague about how much money they give to stop third world hunger, but they never risk criticism about beliefs that have something to do with their own country. I love this song. End of. |
