| Heard this for the first time in Charlotte on Wednesday... beautiful. For those that haven't seen DMB in person... wow. It's definitely an experience that you don't want to miss. I was front row, center stage... and wishing I had a particular friend their to share it with. It's amazing that they opened with this song. The person I wanted to go (and couldn't) is the one that I remember as making me smile.. making me laugh.. and I was always telling him it's the little things in life that are the most important. Anyways.. such an amazing experience for me. With a little bit of luck... I'll have his arms around me again someday... maybe at another DMB concert... wouldn't that be nice? | |

Beautiful song.. Basically.. It's obvious they're both in relationships... the girl calls him to talk b/c she's upset or something has happened. He misses her and still cares for her - but he's in this new relationship and talking w/ her breaks down his resolve to be faithful. "And I never wanna say goodbye" To me, he's saying he doesn't want to say goodbye permanently to her (the girl that's calling) But she's putting him in an awkward position.. making it hard to be faithful. They both still care about each other.. but apparently neither is willing to break things off with their current b/f & g/f... The way he says it again at the end.. "Honey why you callin' me so late?" To me .. it's trying to figure out where she would like things to go.. why is she calling? Just to talk.. or because she wants him back? I dunno.. just my opinion... I like the song though. |

To me.. it seems like he's relaying a conversation... The very beginning - it's as if he's asking her if she's alright because she looks like she's been upset (crying, etc.) Then the rest of it is what she told him. That he doesn't know her and that he doesn't care - and that she's leaving. It's ironic in a way - because it's almost as if she's coming up with excuses, 'tried of the weather, i'm just tired, need a sunrise - tired of the sunset, some snow would be nice'.... But - if you pay attention to a couple parts - 'I think I'll get a lover,' and needing a new town 'leave this all behind.' Anyways... that's my take on it.. Boston... I think everyone thinks of doing the same now & then... |

I don't know that my guy will read this.. isn't really my guy.. felt like it for a while. But .. if you do. I love you. I don't know how things are.. tell me. Good or bad.. just tell me. I'd have to agree.. it's about hitting rock bottom. You feel so low that you want something or someone help you to get through. You try your best and you know it's not good enough.. that you're losing the battle.. losing yourself. Drug addiction or relationship.. doesn't matter what's caused things to get to that point. Once you're there & you need help.. the last thing you need is somone telling you I told you so. Your 'friends' see how low you are.. and they're embarassed by it.. Dak83.. no, it's not the end of everything.. but when you find someone you love.. that you would gladly spend the rest of your life with them.. and for whatever reason - it ends. When you're right in the middle of all those feelings, the hurt from missing them, the confusion in trying to understand, wanting to either stop loving them or to have them back in your life.. sometimes it sure feels like the end of everything. |

| I think this is the last time I'll comment on here. This song.. it's really beautiful to me. I can't listen to it without thinking of my lover... well.. my ex-lover. I know he'll never read this.. so I can pretty well say whatever i want. I found the man of my dreams.. in a friend that was truly a friend. Now.. Knowing that his life and mine will be separate.. it just tears at my heart. He was absolutely the most amazing person I've ever known and knowing that I'll never be with him again.. it hurts more than anything i've ever experienced. I think that’s how you can really tell the amazing songs that are out there.. from the ‘background music’ as someone once told me. The songs that make you think, make you feel.. that touch those tender spots – sometimes good, sometimes bad – those are the really amazing songs. Either way, I can definitely relate to this song. It's funny.. the first time I heard this song - I thought of my guy.. and how he orders this special kind of coffee. Now.. months later.. I had the cd playing (and the sound muted).. I was talking to him on the phone.. said goodbye and unmuted the stereo. This song was playing.. Not that much of a coincidence.. but a beautiful song that touches my heart. I think it's amazing how many really good artists there are out there, that create these songs that even though the words are ordinary... situations are ones that everyone experiences everyday. And yet.. the emotions they invoke are so extraordinary. There's so much depth that listeners bring to a song, that even when it is sung in a matter of fact kind of .. no big deal manner.. it still hits solidly home. I don't remember the name of the song .. but he's done a couple in the show Scrubs. The one I'm talking about.. he kind of kept popping up the entire time, strummng his guitar and singing sadly away.. he has an amazing voice, soothing yet stirring. Anyways.. for this song and others, he's made it onto my 'follow' list to see what comes next. |

If you thought this song is her being "cool with it", then you really need to listen again. It is most definitely about infidelity though. I'd be the first to agree that most songs are open to interpretation, but it's pretty clear that she is anything but "cool with it". Neither of them are. The lyrics are wrong too. The one part is actually: Reba: "Oh, and shouldn't I lose my temper" Linda: "Oh, and shouldn't I be ashamed" Listen to the song.. it's full of heartache.. anguish.. loving somone, knowing you're not the only one.. and wondering how they are when they are with that other person. |

This song is absolutely amazing. I get a little wordy sometimes.. so I’m sure this time won’t be any different, but from a female perspective here’s my take: The song is full of sexual innuendo, but not the one night stand, feel awkward the next morning kind of sex. It’s that amazing, losing focus of everything else around you kind of sex. He’s speaking of a woman and something about her that pulls at him.. not something fleeting b/c the ball and chain implies something stronger...more sustainable. Others can try to win her over.. but in her heart, he’s the one that’s there, time and again. The way she is.. candy to his soul. That’s huge.. She’s a positive force in his life, touching his soul. He’s so incredibly affected by her, and his feelings for her. In a way, it’s so amazing, it reminds him of dreams of youth. Anyone old enough to go through a few bad relationships and find something amazing, knows what I’m talking about. Partly it makes me wonder if he’s just now telling her he loves her. He’s asking her to touch her lips (as if signaling) that she loves him too. Bare boned.. he’s naked.. vulnerable… and overwhelmed by his feelings for her. He’s asking her forgiveness if he goes overboard.. as if he’s scared that he’s moving too quickly or saying too much, but when he’s holding her so close, he can’t help himself. He brings up the ‘in a boy’s dream’ part quite a bit. Almost as if he can’t quite believe what’s between them… or that she is his fantasy come true. ‘Show your world to me’.. another part that seems to point to so much more than just sex… the song just drips longing for her, to be with her. The last part.. ‘Oh I watch you there through the window and I stare at you’.. I don’t think it’s necessarily an actual window. Reminds me of the saying ‘the eyes are the windows to the soul’. He looks at her (through his eyes) and he stares.. she ‘wear’s nothing and wears it so well’ She’s not hiding behind any sort of pretense, she loves him and doesn’t hide it… he wishes he could do the same. The crash into me & I’ll come into you.. the meaning is obvious.. but so much deeper for those who know someone who is like candy to their soul. Anyways.. sorry for going so long.. but this song is incredible. My lover introduced me to this song just over a year ago. Every time I hear it, it touches my soul as does he... in that sexy way that he does. |
