This song is obviously poking fun at certain sects of the Christian church, mainly spirit-filled churches (Pentecostals) and such. Although, they do actually make fun of themselves a little.
On a random note, this song always reminds me of the movie "Children Of The Corn" where they are in the car and they turn on the radio where all they can hear is the preacher talking about the sinners and the homosexuals, and how they will burn in Hell. That's not at all what Christianity is about, it is about embracing others and love...but that is what this song reminds me of.

It's about being branded and people's natural ability to create stereotypes. J. Cantrell is basically saying "Fuck off" to all of those people. Maybe they judge upon appearance, or character/personality, either way it is all the same. Great song, one of the best unreleased songs of AIC. |

Even now I never get tired of listening to this song. InMe may have moved on with their sound, and gone down the "emo" road (not that is a bad thing, it's just not my favourite style of music) they still manage to blow me away. There is an air of grunge to this song maybe ala "Alice In Chains" any song that covers depressing subjects I love. |

Ooh, looks like I'm the first to comment. This song is so catchy, it really shows the talent of Mark Lanegan. This song has a sort of mystical streak running through it, and not forgeting the nice grungy riff.
The song is most likely about a girl, and how he is a long long time away, as in so distant from her emotionally. |
